SYNOPSIS:
A detective JOHN MICHAEL loses his daughter in a tragic bus accident. Two years later, an orphan girl of the same age appears claiming to possess supernatural powers. As the world rallies to her call to believe nothing is impossible, John must discover the truth about her, his daughter, and the power of belief itself.

The script rough draft has just been completed. I am currently moving into revisions. Any Script Gurus out there want to wade in and help me out by reading it and giving me some feedback? If you do, the movie will be spoiled for you as it has huge twists, but I would appreciate it. (I want to hear if some characters need more fleshing out and ideas about that, any dialogue suggestions, any other ideas and formatting correction) Thanks!

Magic is currently in Pre-production and will be filmed in 3D with a RED 3D setup or something similar. I am quite excited about this as I think the story is one that will rock the world. Powerful stuff. Like the Stricken BLOG, I will keep you updated hear each step along the way as we put our team together and such. When the poster is done for our other film "The Park" I will start a thread for it as well.

This film is different than Stricken in the sense we will be attaching funding, big names, and rolling hot and heavy on this with high powered cameras and hopefully distribution secured before filming begins. We shall see. Cross your fingers and join in the fun!

Congrats!

I wish I was more of a script doctor so I can help you, but I'm afraid I'd probably do more harm than good. Hahaha. It's exciting that you're going to be shooting in RED 3D, with big names, and a bigger budget. Very ambitious. I wish you all the best of luck, and can't wait to get all the updates as things progress. The scenes I've seen from Stricken looked awesome, and I'm sure this will up the bar even more.

Looks like I'll have to start saving for all these films you're making!
Live long and prosper.

Looks really neat! I wish you the best!

As a friendly little word of advice--and this is the graphic designer in me talking--I would rework the "Jessica" name photoshop a little bit on the gravestone (or just leave it off altogether). It looks really fake. It may seem like nitpicking, but it's the little stuff like that can give away the strong sense of professionalism you've built up.

Again, I wish you nothing but the best!

Absolutely! This is a temp poster at the moment. We will have a Pro poster done once we have the real little girl cast. Thanks! As a side note...do you want to take a crack at putting the name Jessica on the headstone? If so, I will send you the file! -Matt

hmm, for hte 3d are you going to use dual red rig? Or some sort of conversion lens?

I cant imagine render times for dual 4k lol

What type of shots are you designing to take advantage of this?

hey Matt

seeing as you are a magician, was wondering if the story revolves around "magicians" and such, or if it's more of a fantasy type "magic". From the image it looks to be more fantasy-fairy tale type magic

thanks

It actually is about both. It revolves around a girl who claims to have supernatural powers but each thing she will do on camera is a real illusion out there on the market today, so there should be no visual effects on the "Magic" side of things except for two key moments. This will also let the little girl do "Magic" at premieres and such. I also want the movie to feature several magicians, two of them being former consultants to Criss Angel: Wayne Houchin and Dexter Morgan.

The story is freakin' powerful. As I was writing the ending on my iphone in Denny's, I couldn't help my eyes filling up with tears. Everyone there saw a 6'3" psycho dude in the corner typing on his phone with tear filled eyes...a little freaky I am sure.

I am VERY excited about this!

This post along with your others are very motivating to me. You're jumping right back in the saddle and ready for another adventure.

I saw STRICKEN about 60 pages in and I practically read the whole thread, by far my favorite and most creative tech duo here! Can't wait to see what Pops is going to pull from the lab for Mr. Wayne this time.

I think it's great. I also wrote a feature length screenplay about magic/magicians. It's finished so now I'm hunting around for an agent to help sell it

We have our creative team all going through the MAGIC script final rewrite together. Matt, Troy and I are enjoying pizza, pepsi and creativity. Between fixes we are brainstorming. What fun! :engel017:

Magic the feature script is completed! We are now moving forward with it. We will have more updates soon, including the possible child starring as the lead.
