I encourage everyone to listen to this insightful 20ish minute interview with George Miller about this film http://www.theqandapodcast.com/2015/05/mad-max-fury-road-george-miller-q.html

You're right about that not being the Interceptor and being the rocket car, my mistake. And the kid does sneak onto the rig, you're right.
Wow, then that scene makes no sense to me. Why would Max and the convoy ever meet again after that? Maybe Max drives out to find them and return the kid? Geeze, I just watched the film two weeks ago and now I want to watch it again haha.
Well, upon viewing again, I see the Gyro Captain wheels up to the wreckage and they have a laugh. I think eventually the convoy found them & picked up the boy.Maybe Max drives out to find them and return the kid?
I just watched all three yesterday!Come hell or high water, I'm watching Mad Max tonight, and then the hopefully the other 2 later this week. Then of course, doubling back to the theatre for another viewing of Fury Road!
Interesting comments ref Hardy's Mad Max .....I didn't mind his portrayl (but others have) . I put this down to 2 things
1) Max doesn't take out the villan , she does, which for some maybe doesn't cemment his role as the Hereo/ protagonist.
2) The Mad Max character is so iconic and loaded with our own bias and memories it would be hard for any actor to fill the role, even an aged Gibson. Would anyone accept new actors for the roles of Luke Skywalker or a Ripley ?.
Max stays and the others leave for a better life in both #2 and #3. I guess this is only a slight shift from Fury Road where Max must leave in order to go away from the better life that the others are going to try to start at the Citadel. Somehow it didn't ring true to me, especially after Max suggested they go back there. But hey, what the hell do I know?
"When he was leaving the Citadel I found it fitting because if I was as screwed up in the head as him I'd want to be on my own too! haha. I think he found some redemption for past failures but I don't think it 'cured' him of his demons which I find believable than him hugging it out and suddenly becoming a people person."
I agree, although it would have hurt the pacing to add much else at that point. I think the "ending" to the hallucinations was meant to be when he took the arrow to the hand. Shielding himself from his own nightmare he inadvertently saved his own life. It's kinda like a "Use the Force" moment, but accidental. Again, that stuff didn't really work for me, but then again it was just about all we had in the movie to hang our hats on for Max and his character.I think the movie was missing an important story beat at the end. We never finished up with Max's madness, his flashbacks. And he never had a chance to contemplate staying or leaving. That little bit of short changing weakened the film.
Also, Tom Hardy is attached to three more Mad Max films (one of which already has a script ready), so I'm sure there's plenty more to come.
Thanks for the warning. Just what we need - another plotless, candy coated, star vehicle popcorn franchise. I will be sure to be out fishing the day those come out. And even then, my day will still be more interesting than "Sad Max - Furry Toad".
What are you, just baiting here? If you at all like the Mad Max films then I cannot imagine you not enjoying this one. It's like watching three or four of them in one. It has just about everything that these films ever represented within it, mostly in abundance. And it is certainly executed with stunning technical craft and inventiveness. If you don't like the films then why bother to comment in the thread? Go do something you do like. Thanks for the warning.
