The presence of CGI makes me nervous, as what made the old Road Warrior flicks so exhilarating was their total verisimilitude. I hope they don't go overboard with it. Miller directed two of my favorite films so I will certainly give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm a sucker for everything post apocalyptic. And that fascination started with Mad Max back in the day.
Excited about this. Just worried it will be too much action and car chases and not much more. We'll see...
 
I have faith as it is George Miller at the helm.

Looks like plenty of real action happening in there along with the CGI. I'm excited for this.
 
First off, I am 'beyond' excited about this. I've been following the bts fr a few years now.

Reboot or not......did he have those tattoos in thunderdome?
and what's with everyone always cutting his hair?????
 
if that trailer is any indication, it would look like he's been taking notes from michael bay... Hoping there isn't quite that much slo/mo and splotions in it as it makes it out to have.
 
I just bought 'Beyond Thunderdome' blu-ray at Best Buy the other day for $6. I think it's underrated and I had forgotten how awesome some of it is, (The final road chase) but damn if the score doesn't annoy me in all of the films. Just tinny bombastic generic tripe that knocks it down a peg or two.

This does look great. Here's hoping...

Whenever I forget how much I hate overdone CGI effects a film like this comes along. ( I'm going to stick with the original MM series )
 
I wish it didn't take the teal and orange look to such an extreme. They're in the desert, so everything is naturally teal and orange. They didn't need to add to it so aggressively. It looks oversaturated and artificial. Other than that, I'm psyched for it.

Too excited to care about extreme color grading or over-the-top CGI.

Ahhhhh, who am I kidding? It'll probably suck. You're only 12 years old once.
 
I read something where Miller commented that they felt they had a choice for the look because the dessert all looked so plain and the same everywhere one looked. It was either saturate the colors or just drain it all to black & white, and he was sick of all the desaturated images out there in films. It's an interesting choice and one I think I could get into. Kind of like the Buzz Aldrin quote from the first moon landing, "Beautiful, beautiful, magnificent desolation."
