GH3 Lumix 12 35 from Japan

Hi everybody. I am going to purchase lumix 12 35 lens from Amazon. Some sellers ships straight from Japan. Is any difference between japan and lets say us version? They are cheaper so thats why i am asking.
 
It's probably gray market so wont come with US warranty. Check the fine print and email seller just to make sure.
 
FWIW, I had to return and exchange my 12-35 I bought from B&H, because it had an issue right out of the box. I'm glad I bought from an authorized dealer, and not gray market. YMMV.
