Low light grain

Wow, doesn't looks worse than really low light on an HVX.

(BTW noise, not grain)

Were the blacks crushed?

I don't think some people appreciate the fact that HVX200 have an ISO setting of around 320. 4000 on this is insane considering that the noise is minimal at that setting.

Plus remember using de-noise filters like Boris Continuum in post could even make it "better" subjectively.

I don't "some people" understood what I was saying. You are adding to my post. Read it again and you'll notice I didn't say that the HVX was as good as the 7D in low light.

Oops, was thrown off with the "looks worse" rather than doesnt look worse. Definitely agree on the 7d looking pretty good at that setting then.

No problem Spec.

Though I think the noise is very different, it does feel "as intrusive" as it was in the HVX. The 200 has lots of noise in the blacks though where on the 7D the noise seems to be only in the mids.

So I would love to know if the blacks were crushed in post or in camera.

This is most impressive. Would like to see how it looks when ran through the neat DNR plug-in.
