Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

I'm in North Hollywood. I'd be interested in going. Feb. 12th still? And where is it going to be? San Fernando Valley, right?? :)

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Anaheim convention center
ha ha ha, it would be great for Panasonic
but that's just too much competition.

c'mon Rush it's Wed, (sorry man , I know you're busy) but we need to have something already scheduled by tomorrow night, so that everybody can plan accordingly

or else it's gonna be a last minute thing.

peace

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Dang. Toronto's planning their second meeting, and we can't even get our first one off the ground. So, how bout it folks?  :-[

I think we just slate a date and time, nuff said. Those who can make it, show up. Those who can't, we'll have more.

I would even be willing to host one in my personal home, but I wouldn't know how to coordinate an event like this other than watching reels on my HDTV and eating Cheetos.

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

oh well...I guess there will be no meeting on Sat
there goes our chance to hang with Barry Green
>:(

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

You guys ever get this going? I'm up there often and would be down with coming by...if it ever happens. Good luck. :)

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum but I would go. I live in Burbank. We could reserve the new Library that's on Verdugo and Hollywood way. They would let us use the conference room there once a month. I believe it provides more than enough space. The library is open until
9:00pm. Plus being so close to production facilities would allow us to invite some great guests. And being right next to the studios is always fun to see. Any thoughts on this? Either way I would attend.

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Oh man, here it is, Feb. 28th and I just came across this thread. I just moved out to Claremont, CA in September and would LOVE to network with other users out here. But I guess I missed the first meeting! Anyone have any notes on how it went? From skimming the thread it looked like Feb. 12th or so was the meet date. Are there plans for another get together? If so, count me in!

You didn't miss anything. There might have been a few guys who got together at someone's house, but the original plan was to have a big fat meeting with catering somewhere in Glendale. Rush was going to get EVS to sponsor it but it hasn't happened, yet.

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Whew! Thanks for that. If there's a list, please include me in it. Would love to get together with other DVX'ers out here. I'm planning a shoot out here for a horror film around this summer and would like to find like minded people who are interested in getting involved.

Re: Los Angeles DVX group meeting

Does anyone want to come to Manhattan Beach? We are there this Saturday, let me know.

If you're shooting in LA I'd really like to meet you, maybe visit you on the set. If that's cool. I'm in pre-production on my first movie. Very low budget (under $7000) and will be shooting in Glendale/Covina in the summer.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond here guys. Since the site changed, I didn't get notification of reply to this thread. Too funny that you're shooting in Glendale/Covina. I live in Claremont which is like 15 minutes from there. A majority of the production will be in Claremont with a couple of shots in Santa Monica (interiors). This may change as the script changes. I have a first draft done, but might be altering it. The idea is to shoot a short film to use as a sales tool for a feature version of the larger concept. Drop me a PM or an email and let's chat, k?

I'd like to get a group of DVXusers together to shoot this thing. Anyone interested in this? Let me know.

To answer your question:
Elvis, go check out my thread on my first short. It's in the clips section of this site called "the message universal". My background is in animation storyboards and comic books but I'm stretching into film. Working on the feature screenplay version of comic book right now and it's been optioned (Don't want to post with whom right now).

Hi guys,
I would love to be involved in a local DVX user group, I'm a rookie (just got my DVX yesterday from EVS) but would be happy to help if I can or just participate to get this group off the ground.

Storyteller - I live in Rancho Cucamonga, if you need someone to help as a second camera let me know since I'm so close to ya. I need the practice with this thing! I also have a Beaulieu 4008 Super8 (I know old skool....but thats what has lead me to the DVX).
Ciao
Brandon
