Looking for lens in the 85-135 range...

I'm just looking for a good telephoto prime, I've already got the Tamron 17-50 f2.8, so I'm just looking for that one lens a tinch longer. Sort of thinking about getting the Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro, but wondering if anybody had any experiences with any other lenses that might work for this purpose and not break the bank.

Probably looking to spend around 300...but it would be nice if it were less. Any suggestions?

The canon 85 f1.8 is super nice and can sometimes be found it that range used, it is more like $400 new. I found a leica 90 f2.8 for under $300 that was good mechanically and I already had the adapter or I would have gone for the canon 85. It is not ef-s which is also a plus.

That said, I hardly ever use it on my aps-c camera since it is so long with the 1.6 crop (136 eq). Only really useful for close ups and is not as practical for mcu and ms. I shoot most with my 17-40, 50 and 60 macro.

hit ebay or local used suppliers - millions of lenses - old MF ones with smooth focus rings

nikon, olympus etc

you may also consider the 70-200 F4 canon I got that used for not much more

I also got a 100-300 nikkor for 89UKP !
