General Look at what this guy is doing with a 550D and 7D

That footage was shoot by my company. Thank you very much! My helicopter has filmed for Discovery Channel, ESPN, the PGA, VH-1, and many other productions.

The DSLR cameras are really nailing the goods for us but the AF100 will be our next camera. Definitely open for more work so give me a shout!

I am flying a custom built helicopter. Its not a hobby heli converted. Costs for a full kit is around $32,000. Be prepared to spend at least 2 yrs flying, crashing, and repairing a hobby heli before throwing money at one of these. Alot of money in the air.

Pretty neat rig though. The camerahead we use has full 360 degree pan, tilt, and roll with electronic gyro stabilization on all axis. The feed from the camera is sent down to my camera op who is viewing it on a lcd screen and manipulating the camerahead to frame the shot. We also tether off to the DP or someone on the crew for their viewing pleasure.

Well, very cool work. I may not be able to buy one, but the video has definitely inspired a few cool shot ideas to use someone like you.

It seems to be really hard for some to wrap their heads around the uniqueness of the shots we can get but once they do it really gets magical.

Yes please give me a shout if you want to really exploit this new platform.

You posted the footage as amazing and then mention it was from your company? Also you say and specifically mention that your company are the only ones that can achieve this? Something seems strange with this thread to me?

Regardless though the footage does look great and thanks for sharing.

That is outstanding. What would be the ball park day rate for shooting, say with an AF-100. How heavy of a camera can you fly? Do you have a link to your company's web site?

No no no. Where did I say that? Not at all. Now, there aren't many that can get production quality video but I by no means am not the only one doing it. Matter of fact if there is someone that is more local than me then I refer to keep costs down.

I have 2 full time jobs as a firefighter/pmdc. My hands are pretty full. No need to hog anything. Pretty proud of what we get though.

Thanks

Wow ... $32,000. Preeeeetty sure my wife will say no to that one, considering I can't even get $500 for a new lens. But, who knows.

Truly phenomenal stuff, there, man. You should be proud!

Sorry I misunderstood. Footage looks amazing though!

Great Work!

I've been pumped about RC-helicopter video since I saw a few short clips in the Vincent Laforet clip featuring pro surfer Jamie O'Brien.

I've always wondered about starting something similar in my local area - finding some really great RC Pilots and collaborating with them to offer video services. One other company has started doing it and are getting alot of business using just a gopro and a tiny little quad-helicopter. I can only imagine how popular a more professional implementation would be with commercial clients.

Sorry was gone for a bit fellas.

Hawk-Its a helluva investment but with really good return. That was my pitch to the mrs at least.

Vision filmz-no worries:-)

deltoidjohn-I am familiar with the footage you are speaking of. Very well done stuff! Alot of greasing and cleaning metal after flying over salt water like that but the footage is definitely worth it.

The go-pro and small quad are are good tool to have in the tool chest for high risk shots for sure.

Wow! Phenomenal work!
I especially like the shot where the camera ducks under a tree and then over the heads of the golfers. That is a very unusual shot, and it would not be possible with cables or regular helicopters.

Wow Bill thanks! I take alot of pride in our footage and alot goes into making it happen so to be recognized means alot.

simon-That sir is exactly the shots we bring to the table. The particular shot you are speaking of was one I came up with. Production asked me to get creative so I did. Haha

Thanks again guys!
