GH4 Long Extension Pole for GH cameras

Anyone ever tried just attaching your GH to an unofficial extension pole? Think a 10-12 foot version of a selfie stick. Point it straight up in the area and do quasi-crane shots, or locked down quasi aerial shots?

Why or why not?

If so, any suggestions for the worlds largest selfie stick / sturdy extension rod that I could drop a camera attachment to?

I made a jib pole stabilizer originally for my T3i, G6 and then the GH4. I also have a mini version for the gopro. I actually got a patent on it and was going to try to sell them at one point. The electronic gimbal's came out and made it tough to do anything with mechanical stabilizers anymore. Just the carbon fiber poles alone make this whole idea pretty expensive.

Regardless of my spray, the idea of mounting a GH on a pole works pretty well, especially if you can get it stabilized and stay level to the horizon through the swing
