Well this is in response to a major company with a proven track record of delivering.

But yeah. I supposed it's still vapor ware at this point.

Anything can happen. Delays. Etc. And who knows what else may actually show up before the end of 2010.
 
UNOFFICIAL price estimate for the AF100 from a Panasonic rep is "Around $6000".
Estimated shipping in December.

I mean the dslr game. Plus, to be fair, this one will actually come out, on time, exactly as promised. With scarlet it is a guessing game, with Panasonic it is guaranteed.

But yeah, Sony and red still have their chance to surprise us. But as far as the dslr being the future, at least for me, yep that game is over.

Wow. At least the HMC70 designer still has a comfy job at Panasonic.

Excited about the AF100 - sounds good from the spec perspective. That's a really early looking render.

I can't wait to see results from the 3D camera. Is it fully automatic on convergence and inter-occular distancing?

i never thought dslr would be the future... :)

i'm more interested in seeing how good the implementation of cmos will be (read-reset time) in an unofficial around 6,000 dollar camera. And, then... how much is the aliasing truly reduced, etc, etc... still a ton of variables as this appears to the be the first camera from a panny or canon, or nikon that takes some of appeal of the dslr's and puts it into a proper form factor... and, if it is actually a sensor made for motion and not stills... well, that's good... b/c that's where i never saw a dslr being the future due to the inherent flaws/limitations of using a low speed stills sensor at a fraction of its rez.
 
AF100 & AG-HPG20 lets you record AVCintra 4.2.2 via SDI on P2 cards for about $11,000 using what ever glass you want
