Lilliput Monitor with HMC150?

Keeps getting delayed from UPS because of all the snow here in Pittsburgh. No idea when I'll get it at this point, as it keeps snowing.

Its such a pain trying to compare this monitor to the built-in LCD. With the built in - It could look totally different and you move just a little and it looks exactly the same... eh

This 7" monitor does have a wider angle of view. Check out the darks, looks like the blacks are a little darker and a little detail is lost... The colors look a lot better then now that I have been playing around with the limited settings. Overall the 619AH is perfect for the investment level. I turn the WFM on and I am ready to start shooting without having to switch between, wfm and focus assist like I am use to on 1 little screen.

Hey nice setup. How are you powering the monitor? Is there a battery plate on the back for panasonic or sony? or maybe v mount or something? Seems like a great deal but the battery on their site doesn't look that great compared to other offering from Ikan and Marshall.

Right now its just plugged into the wall. I haven't ordered a batt yet but its going to take a 12v. I was thinking of building my own plate but looking at sony and panny batts, they are only 7.2v...

Anyone know if it needs to be up-converted too or just wont work?

I am wondering what it is exactly that you bought to mount the monitor off of your camera like that? Thanks!

I mentioned it a while ago, but this thread got thick quick... its the bogen 2935 arm. Not sure what brand the little bracket on the end is, spare parts... :)

I wouldn't actually recommend this one unless you are handy and want to make a trip to the local hardware store.

A few others were mentioned that should just work right out of the box, starting at around page 3.

Ill be using a modified one of these... I removed a section and added 1/4" thumb screws to the ends...

I have a super clamp, those are a beast and really sturdy. I wouldnt use that to attach to the camera though, maybe a tripod leg. I would get something that works with the top mount of the camera if you aren't using it yet.

That flex arm looks like a good solution, wonder how bouncy it gets if you move around.

A lot of my shooting is fixed to a tripod. That's why I was going to use the super clamp to the tripod, then attach the arm to that with the monitor. I could probably buy something down the road to mount the super arm to the camera shoe though I would think. What do you think?

I agree with ya there, nice thing about mounts is they can be expanded and adapted whatever way you want. Most of the fittings are standardized so they all play nice together.

Just pulled the trigger on the 7" model...thanks for the coupon! Now I have to figure out how I am going to attach it...

email says that my Lilliput 619AH has been shipped. I ordered the Ikan SH7 sun hood made for the V7000, the dimensions are nearly the same so I hope it will work well. B&H has them for $25-ish, seems like a good price, I was ordering something else so the hood will hitch a free ride here.

I ordered the 619AH from Coollcd.com and it arrived five days later. Boy they really taped the shipping box up, I guess that makes it watertight for transport. I haven’t done much with it since it came last night. My first impression is WOW considering the price of this device. Seems to really do a very good job of displaying what the HMC-150 sees. I just have the default setting and it seems to be showing the exact frame that the flip out LCD monitor on the camera displays. For me it is very helpful in manual focusing the camera. I am only looking at it indoors and the brightness and contrast are good on the camera as well as the monitor menu items and they are very clean and crisp. Thanks to everyone on this thread that recommend this monitor, I am very pleased with my purchase. I hope to DIY a few add-ons and will share them as soon as I can.

Is there anyway to calibrate this monitor with RGB controls? I read on another forum that the 669GL has full RGB controls for calibration...

I just put in an order for the 619AH, but not sure now.....

If anyone has tried both, which one is better? (I know that is subjective...)

Thanks

Terry
