Letus35 Extreme

trudd, You will need 18 inchers for the letus. Ask me how I know. Those are 18s in the pic below.

I have all cavision stuff. It is top notch, but those carbon rods it comes with are too short. Pics of my rig can be found on another letus thread that was going on the other day titled "letus34 problem" or something.

Oh I know. I found a Cavision rig on the Marketplace for a good price. I got the RS-15IIM for the price of 10" indirails (and the indirails don't come with a lens support).

I don't have a matte box or FF yet, so 10" is plenty for now. Once I get money for a FF, I'll just buy a pair of 18" rods somewhere with the money I saved on the Cavisions.

Can anyone from LETUS tell us witch is the highest shutter speed for EXTREME? I am doing music videos and concerts and without proper(high) shutter speed it looks very bad.

Not to sound like a broken record - but yeah, I would also be interested in hearing about the shutter speed limitations of the Extreme.

I don't have my test unit in yet but I'm going to run some tests on the shutter speed. The GG motor runs at the same speed but there is a new custom GG element in the Extreme that is much finer. Higher shutter speeds should be no problem but I'll need to do some tests before I say for sure how high you can go.

If there are any other specific questions you have, feel free to PM me and I'll answer what I can.

if it maintains solid rich bokeh, is reasonably sharp, and can use higher shutterspeeds, i think its a solid choice. It's useability, and final recorded image is whats important.

Im not going to sell my SGpro or anyhting, but id be very excited to see one in person and give it a test run.

Can you imagine? If Letus35 Extreme allows some 1/100 (or even 1/50) shutter speeds without grain it is the best adapter out there for a fraction of high priced ones.

.

videoamater,
Why do you need high speed shutter for your work? Is it for high speed shooting or is there something else - I'm just curious.

i m shooting action with it and i definatly need more than 50, at 50 motion is too blurry, it looks enhanced in slow mo.

the standard letus allowed for 1/50th.... ? unless you mean 1/500th.

you can hit thoes numbers easily with spinning gg adapters. (1/120th, maybe 1/250th) but theis may be the first time you will see +1/100 on a vibrating adapter.

on what? please dont say the extreme... that would be extremely bad news.

p.s. im dying for some stills.

Grain is visible at 1/50.

I'm assuming he means the Letus35 FE with the older GG element. The new GG element going into the adapters is much finer and should not exhibit noticeable grain at that shutter speed. Again, the second I get my demo unit in, I'll do whatever testing is requested.

So I just got done writting up my review / thoughts and it is uploading to my site now- I'll have full res 1080p and 720p samples available for download. The initial images are just from controled testing, I am now headed out to go get some footage, and play around with the shutter settings. I'll get that processed and put that up online at well.

The review will be done uploading in about 1hour and 15 minutes. (I don't know why it is taking so long to upload my site- I'm on cable ..... grrrr....)

Anyway, the review is under the Indi-HD Blog of my site: www.ryanewalters.com

i have never known the letus to be the sharpest of adapters out there. can we see some video of this new mod, compared to the older one?

I'll have some test footage soon as well and hope to get some comparison shots between the FE and the Extreme. Stay tuned :)

ITs intreresting it seems to eliminate the Moire pattern the HVX naturally creates in High frequency detial.
