Letus35 Extreme

the only extreme is the price...still no locking the lense to the adaptor...at $1200.00 you can't get the lense to lock to the adaptor? And how about the backfocus? Did you solve the 1mm adjustment? A jump of almost double is a lot to swallow...Especially when you can get alternatives for a lot less. Before you can get the Letus for $700.00 but now you ar outpricing yourself for what you have to offer.

This version is designed with interchangeable lens mounts. Locking mounts of course. Picture taken is the version with swappable mounts. This version has prism and light loss is 1/2 stop total. Back focus problem will be fixed with this version. The adapter is $1500, not $1200. We offer at $1200 for limited time only, thanks.

Ouch man, that price is high. You can get a Redrock M2 HD Package for that price... It looks sweet but dang why so high? Did it cost that much to make that you had to up the price? Providing a quality product at the lower price is what made you guys popular.

Hello everyone-

I have had the opportunity to test out the adapter, and I am currently doing a write up / review of the adapter, which I'll be posting either late tonight or tomorrow. (I have to head out to a shoot right now.)

In short, this adapter is worth every penny. For what it does, and the quality it gives, I'd easily pay over $1,500. And right now for the first orders they are offering it at $1,200.

As soon as the review is up I'll post back and give you the link. :)

This is cool! And such a small form factor. Isn't Cinevate ADDING a flip module? How big will that make the Brevis form factor? The Letus Extreme competes only with the mini35 on size. How are the optics? We will await Ryan's test results. The price is definitely up there. But how much will the Brevis/M2 be with a flip module?

Seems like it could be smaller, lighter and cheaper than a M2 with flip add-on or a Brevis with flip add-on (oh wait, those don't exist yet) with equal or less light loss and may well have an equal if not cleaner, edge to edge image. And probably the LetusExtreme is so small it might not need rails, making it an even cheaper solution.

If it is true about the new engineering and the fixed issues from the LE..I will pay $1200/1500 in a second. I agree it is basically a cheaper mini35. It is worth it to me to not deal with upside down footage. Looking forward to reviews and some footage.

We have Nikon, Canon FD and Canon EF (EOS) mount at this moment. Pentax K and Minolta mounts will be added at a later time, thanks.

hey Quyen,
i am wondering how long the limited time offer stands. i mean, i know thats the whole point, but are we talking days, weeks, or months. or does it depend on how fast they sell? Cause i just have to scrap around another few bucks. ( wasn't expecting a price jump quite that high but if its worth it... ;) )

But in all fairness, before the offer goes away, i believe frame grabs and some footage is in order ;)

What are the odds I could trade in the Letus 35FE I bought two weeks ago? I had no idea this was coming to market or else I would've bought it.

This new adapter takes everything to a whole new level. The internals are custom made specifically for the adapter (thus the price increase). We'll get some comparison shots up between the Flip and the Extreme and let the users decide for themselves which to go for.

The Flip is still a great product and will continue to be offered for those on a lower budget. I use the Flip on almost all of the shoots I have lined up. I am, however, looking forward to the Extreme as it solves a lot of issues people seemed to have with the Flip.

I have a feeling once people see what the Extreme can do, the price won't really be an issue. That's all I'll say for now. The product will speak for itself once the reviews and sample footage start coming in.

Quyen-
Any trade in value for those who've purchased the FE within the past year?

lol, will do!

Hopefully Ryan has some samples to post with his review since he was one of the first to get his hands on one of these bad boys.

For those of you wanting to trade up your FE's...

I'll see what we can work out. There will still be a solid market for the FE so re-sale value shouldn't suffer much (if at all). We may look at setting up a market place on LetusDirect.com for those of you wanting to upgrade and looking for a place to list your FE's for sale.

Please keep in mind that the FE is NOT obsolete. It is a different model that is still a strong performer and it will continue to be offered along side the Extreme. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be working closely with Quyen in an attempt to take some of the load off so he can continue with development and production.

I didn't realize it was a flip adapter, makes sense I guess lol but I didn't see anywhere on the site that it was a flip like the FE....

I have no problem with my Letus35fe adapter but vibration speed.
Is the Letus Extreme GG moving faster? If not it's not worth the upgrade.

BUMP: is the GG moving faster enough for a 1/100 shutter or even 1/200 shutter speed??
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING at this point as the rest is perfect.

.

what have you been restricted to shutter speed wise with the FE? and what happens, do you see the grain, or do you see the grain vibrating?, moving spots, cause static grain is one thing, but a moving static grain could be distracting.

with quyen could spend a few hours on the boards to get these questions answered rapid fire. lol i want to order!
