Letus Rods now available

Nice

Here's a link to the same on the Letus site

Hmmmm... looking at the pictures, I wonder...can you only mount the Letus below the cam, or can you lower the cam enough to mount the Letus "upside down" if you prefer?

EDITED TO ADD:
I'm an idiot - the first thing listed in the description says:
Letus35 Extreme adapter can rotate 180 degrees to be in either the up or down position

You can mount the Extreme either in the up or down position. The picture shown has the risers up to their max height. There is plenty of room to lower the camera and flip the Extreme around the other way.

Damn - edited my post at the same time DeGrey was pointing out my stupidity.
:)

So - as long as we have you here... how long between order and shipping on theses?
Just curious.

can't see why it wouldn't work with the economy or any other system.
the shipping time on the letus direct site says 2 weeks.
my question is- how much does it weigh?
also, is there a way to get reimbursed on the support bracket since most people who ordered the extreme already have that coming?

ok, so Hien just wrote that you get reimbursed $50 if you had ordered the support bracket. Still waiting on how much it weighs.

Is it possible to buy the rail blocks alone? I had the indirails, but they didn't have the height offset necessary to properly mount the letus, so I'm thinking of cannibalising the rails from them and fitting the letus system into it.

Another question - assumming you want to set up the Letus in the UP position...you lower the camera all the way... wouldn't that leave the camera support bracket hanging under the rails? And if so...doesn't it look like it might force you to set up the rails with the camera further back on the rails than might be optimal to center it? Am I making any sense here?

Just wondering, what rod length are you guys looking at purchasing?

Also, can anyone describe the benefits of having a 45cm rod over the 30 with the extensions or vice versa?

I thought that Tim was offering some fix for current owners of the rails to use with the Extreme. Maybe I am confused...

We'll be getting more pictures up soon with some different configurations. Those who already ordered the Extreme with support bracket will have an option to remove the support bracket from the support rods package.

The rods are a standard 15mm setup so they aren't specific to the Letus35 Extreme. You can use them the same way you would use any rods support system. For instance, I am using a set of support rods to dry some fresh pasta right now. ;) kidding

Just ordered mine tonite. Celebrating with champagne. Also ordered the RedRock follow focus and Nebtek monitor. Merry Christmas!

Yep, I emailed Tim and not only did he send me new rods but also a new block and an extra riser because I had mentioned that I'm using a HV20 and it's too short for the original. He basically sent me a whole new setup within a few days. I'm telling you guys, service like this deserves loyal customers and I am one of them. I say drop Tim an email, I'm sure he do something for you malcom.

Is it just me or do these rails look non-professional and toyish? Baby blue color?

Doesn't having the camera mounted so high affect balance (as in a negative way?) The rig will be very top heavy and prone to fall over.

I thought it look awesome.

And no, raising the camera doesn't affect balance. Your only problem is if the center of mass shifts either forward or backward because that would put stress on the system. But that's why the tripod mounting plate is able to slide back and forth.
