Lenses?

After playing a few days with the FS100, I bit the bullet and bought the kit lens.

Dang!

I love my Zeiss and Nikon primes to death, but sometimes I got run & gun jobs like press conferences and EB work.
Nothing you really want to do with a case full of primes. It might also come handy in some documentary scenarios.

It arrived tomorrow and I must say, it is much better than I thought.
The anti-shake thingie works wonders and the auto focus is smooth and continuous.

The slow peed is something that isn't the baldest thing with a camera that you can´t hardly use outside without a bunch of NDs.

Just for fun, I was setting it to everything auto and holding it out of the car window while cursing the cobblestone streets of my home town - worked surprisingly good.
Focus did not jump around as I suspected and the steady shot ironed out the bumpy road - almost like a steadycam.

For this type of work - run&gun/EB, I really recommend that lens.

I can recommend this lens. I used it on my GH2 and will use it on my FS100. Definately best bang for bucks!

Hi FelixGER, i´m thinking buying this lens to use in both; in the GH2 and soon in the FS100, how is your experience so far? do you have some shots posted? have you used with a follow focus? how about the weigh with the GH2? for me the Zeiss 24-70 f2.8mm cover my most used focal length, will buy the Tokima 11-16mm f2.8 too!

Cheers

saw this lens on Amazon and was thinking about getting it too, but I think there are better zooms for the same price range if you don't need certain functions like autofocus, etc
the only thing that entices me to get this lens is the Steady Shot function

I like the the lens a lot because of its short focus way. I don´t have to screw and screw to get from infinity to the nearest possible point.
I used it on a follow focus. That can actually be a bit tricky and it ruined two takes on my current short film project beacause the markings really must be hit by a fraction of a millimeter. That´s the downside.
Weigh is perfect! About the same as the Lumix 14-140 mm.

I have some footage here which actually is not meant to be published (people get named in the video and due to excessive alcohol consumption it´s "sensible" footage...^^ Don´t miss 21:55-22:50 Min)
But for this forum it´s ok:

Start - 37:42 min -> Lumix 14-140
37:42 min - End -> Tamron 17-50 2.8
