Lens package for around 3K$ (used)? + Q&A

Hi!, I'm visiting NY and will probably build up a lens package for a Canon 7D..

- IT WILL BE USED 95% FOR HD VIDEO SHOOTING -

Based on Adorama NY/Ritz NY/J&R NY used prices I'm thinking about coming out with this one:

NIKON AI SERIES PRIMES (1980's series) - (USED):
28mm Nikkor Ai-S f/2
35mm Nikkor Ai-S f/1.4
50mm Nikkor Ai-S f/1.2
85mm Nikkor Ai-S f/1.4

+ Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for Canon EF - (NEW)

all them for around 3000$...

NOW QUESTIONS FOLKS!
1- Which adapter ring for CANON EF would you recommend based that I'm planning on buying ONE FOR EACH ONE of the Nikkor, so I don't have to hange the ring.
2- Any focus gear brand for FF recommended?
3- 28mm f/2 or 24mm f/2.8?
4- Can u think of any USED alternative lens package (in Nikkor series) or any other series (Canon L/Zeiss ZE/ Leica R) that might be better but around that price tag?
5- Any experiences with RPLens mods? They sell a similar Nikkor hi-speed "pristine condition" customized package with focus gear + 80mm fronts + Dampened Apertures + Pelican case for around $4300 + 650 for the Tokina = $ 5000.-

Of course.... brand new Zeiss ZE or Leica R would be better for HD video but they are out of my budget...

Thanks!

I picked up the Photodiox off ebay. Low cost, nice quality workmanship backed up for 24 months.

The Nikkors all look nice but personally the 24mm would outweigh the 28mm if I could only have one of them. It's a big jump from 28mm to 16mm, the 24mm may be easier transition from your 35mm

The ultra wide is a tough call. I tested the Tokina which I liked, but the extreme distortion on objects on the edges of the frame at 11mm won't work for what I'm shooting. Mostly shots with people, and their heads get too out of shape.
I also saw some heavy CA problems on another thread here yesterday.
Probably the best you'll find for the price and sure to produce some great images, but beware it's not perfect. Your Nikkors are very predictable by comparison.

If you have the 7D already the Tokina 11-16mm is still a safe bet because it's in demand and would be easy to sell if you change your mind later. It's a very well made lens for the money and I'd almost buy it, but won't cover my needs.

I'm using the 550D until the next generation of 5Ds come out.
I will probably go for a Full Frame camera for wide shots. Then I can get a Nikon 20mm or 18mm prime to finish out the wide needs.
