Lens adapters for AF100

C-Mount Question.

I've been testing the AF102(AF100/101) with different adapters and found that the C-Mount adapter I was using switched off the sensor via the electronics in the MFT mount. I did have the "Lens Check" function switched to OFF, so wondering if the mount is incompatible or I missed a menu setting to turn off the electronic lens control.

I was hoping to stick some Super 16 zooms on and check them out and some old 16mm bolex lenses... Any thoughts?

No sure about your specific adapter issue, but S16 lenses won't cover the whole sensor at most focal lengths. The sensor is considerably larger than 16mm film.

Oh. I was hoping to use the old bolex lenses for effects, vignetting good etc etc.... If only I could disable the "ROM" lens functions!

Konica Hexar AR 135mm lens

Konica Hexar AR 135mm lens

I recently purchased a Konica Hexar AR 135mm F3.5 lens that was misrepresented as a "Konica 135mm lens for micro 4/3s."

I'm new to the whole interchangeable lenses thing, but I'm pretty sure what I have is a bayonet mount--it has two metal prongs that would do some serious damage to the camera if I attempted to attach as is.

Has anyone had experience with this lens? Are there any good adapters for it? Or should I just go for a refund?

Sounds like one of these lenses:

If so, you can mount it to the AF100 with a Konica AR to Micro Four Thirds adapter, commonly sold on eBay. These inexpensive adapters work well enough, though some seem to fit tighter than others. I've had good luck with one made by Pixco, but I don't know how consistent their machining tolerances are.

Got this one in the mail yesterday. Solid, well built and mounts to FD lenses perfectly, like a camera body would. Full control of aperture - lens can be stopped down. Best of all $26!

ebay FD to m4/3 adapter

(note: as I don't have a GH1 or a m4/3 camera for the matter I haven't been able to fully test this lens adapter.)

Steve. I think you might be in for a surprise.

I got a couple of these Canon FD - MFT adaptors from e-bay, and although they looked OK, they turned out to be useless. Very sloppy - pulling focus with a follow focus attachment, and the whole image moved as the lens moved relative to the sensor. In short they were far too lightweight and loose fitting.

There is no comparison between these cheap adaptors and the more expensive ones. You may think that the more expensive ones cant be worth 10 times the price, and I'd perhaps agree with you, but they do do the job - hold the lens tight and rock steady.

I'm still a bit lost on what adapter to buy. I have Nikon F-Mount Primes that have aperture control and a Voightlander adapter that works very well. My issue is I want to get the Tokina 11-16 Nikon so I know I need a new adapter that allows aperture control right? I know there's adapters to choose from, my question is which one will allow me to attach the F-Mount lenses AND the Tokina? Does something like that exist? It would be nice to not change adapters in the field...

If you had the Adaptimax Nikkor adapter with the aperture control thread...it will serve all your Nikkors.

NOVOFLEX

Novoflex from the link:

How does it do that?

That's a darn good question. We have the Novoflex .. and it's a good adapter ..
but it's about as manual as they come. I guess they're talking about the
(quite limited) aperture ring?

Seems misleading to me but still curious how they can claim that.

Perhaps they are referring to MFT still cameras where aperture priority will automatically set shutter
( and optionally ISO).

Both frightening prospects on the AF100 :-)
