FS7: Last minute purchase indecision...your thoughts...

that look pretty good - the big question - what mounting bracket is available for this monitor. I just don't like that flash socket mounting for a 7" monitor
The flash socket mount is just so very flimsy for a huge monitor plus 2 NP-F batteries !! haha
two NP-F970 and a 7" monitor - total weight about around 2.5lbs on a magic arm ?

I have the SmallHD 702 and have 2x the small version of the Sony batts in the back which are nice and light and power it for almost a full day. That's in a Manfrotto hot shoe ball head for on-camera. 492 I think. Rock solid.

Funny, I just stripped off all the gunk that was attached to my camera, baseplates, follow focus, monitors etc, and can't believe how light it is now!

Note my word 'pimped' which implies having all that stuff onboard.

Yep I did a balloon flight where I had to minimise my camera (for hard landings) and bare it is indeed small :)

I must be missing something, because, like someone said, why not get the Blackmagic 4K Studio camera and spend the money on other things (or save it). I can understand wanting ine FS7 in case you follow the cook to a farmers market or whatever, but a set with lighting evens almost everything out-- especially if you deliver in MPEG HD 4:2:2 50mb/s to a station. The FS7 (and even the FS5) seems like overkill in that environment. Just my two cents.
