Okay, I am now allowed to share the latest project I was involved in: Kill Joy. This is an entry in the Interpretations festival.

You can view it on the contest website Interpretations

If you have a chance, check it out.

Agreed with the above. Very good. At the end, I was expecting it to be "Oh, the kids were just playing war all along" sort of thing. I enjoyed it. Good job and good luck.

Finally got a chance to check it out. Wow! This is was pretty awesome. I love how all your films start out with a Humvee. LOL. But this was a very tight project. I liked the overall look of it. The acting was great. Love how the lead guy just sits there not knowing what to do as everything goes to heck around him and then suddenly he has to be pulled out.

The part with the kids told a lot of the story. The scene where as kids they shoot and get back up puts the button on it it think.

Excellent film. Somebody sent me a link for this same competition and I was trying to think of some simple stories to do (especially because it was last minute), but now I'm glad I decided I didn't have time. I think you'll do great in the competition, because your story is perfect for those 4 lines. Can't think of a better way to do it.

wow...very impressive. what was the budget on this. what was it shot with, how did you do it??
Messaged BLT, he will better answer the tech questions than me. He should be popping in shortly.

Me, I just produced, armored, advised, and was an extra on this.

Ah Doc, being so modest as always...

Anyhow, to answer your question, we shot this film over a weekend in August on 6 5Ds/7Ds, and a RED for slow motion capture in 120 fps at 2K. Some of the shots we got were amazing (Especially of the explosion and post-battle stuff), but alas, three minutes is all you get.

Our original budget was $4000, but I had to cough up $2000 more after we were done because a 20-by-foot double scrim we were using fell over from wind and had a small hole in it. Cineworks charged us for it in its entirety despite it being repairable. Oh well.

(PS: If anyone wants to buy the 20x20, let me know)

But anyhow, thanks for all the kind comments, and let me know if you guys have further questions.

Here's the cut with credits:
