Kevin Smith's Too Fat to Fly!!!

...only for films that Kevin Smith directs.

I doubt it because his highest lifetime gross is $31M in 2,700+ theaters for the entire run so lots of empty seats for his movies. To put that into perspective Avatar or Star Trek did those numbers on the first day and a half.

Well some poor guy who needs his job to feed his family will probably lose it because movie director with a big ego and a not so healthy diet got his feelings hurt.

**** that. the company screwed up. sorry no.. the dumb ass flight attendant ****ed up.

Smith is more than justified. listening to his own recounting of the scenario play out on his podcast... good gawd... i'd have been ****ing furious and not left my seat.

if this was joe no name fighting for his right to stay on a plane he can fit onto.. would you slam that guy for having an ego too?

I'm glad Smith has a large audience to speak to and make noise.

The company admitted to ****ing up... serves em right.

My Flight Safety badges ($9.99 each) that I have clipped on to my carry ons have allowed me to get away with murder on that airline and free drinks out the ass if the stewardess notices them. Good times :)

as a really fat guy myself, my favorite practical joke on an airplane is to buy two seats next to each other, board as early as possible, then grab a middle seat and try to sqeeze into it. the look on people's faces is hilarious. often the person sitting next to me will go talk with the stewardess privately to try to remedy the situation. when she comes over i'll explain that even though i bought the 2nd seat, i prefer sitting in the middle one because the 2 armrests hold up my body fat better. after a brief pause, i'll say "i'm just screwing with y'all" and move over.

:D

Has this thread moved on into self parody state yet?

If not, I'd like to add that I hear a good way to fly AND get attention from the media is, build a weather balloon.

lol java! time for some stand up:
Kevin Smith is so fat that he wears the Hulk's shorts as pants.

If you get big enough your gravitational pull with keep stars orbiting around you.

It's job security... and science!

Can't speak for anyone else but when I buy a seat, I believe that I'm buying, well, the use of the space defined by the seat. Sit next to me and stay out of that volume of space, and we're probably going to be fine. Sit next to me and intrude into that volume of space, and it's war. I'll immediately do whatever I have to, as insistently and obnoxiously as necessary, to get you out of it. Sorry. I paid for that space for my use, not anyone else's.

i totally agree. the worst is when you're sitting next to someone and the other person is breathing. just knowing the air they exhale works its way into my volume of space is disgusting. if only there was a (legal) way to make it stop. maybe a self contained pod where everyone gets their own air.

I carry a small battery-powered fan.

Gotta travel smart.

Alternately there are things you can do to stop your neighbor's irritating breathing but be sure to wait until you're over international waters where jurisdictions get cloudy...

i actually worked with him for only a day since the union scum have me blacklisted

in nyc if you join any acting unions you are required to be scammed by casting directors
anyway he was nice and i actually felt bad for him, he was losing his hair and wasn't happy

i entertained him and got a smile, i said where is the knicks? (he has patches of fav sports franchises on his coats jackets)
he said only hockey no basketball lol we were filming cop movie in brooklyn with bruce willis and the nbc comic guy from 30rock(baldwin's comic sidekick)
original name of movie was Kevin Smith's new film rumored to be titled, "A Couple of Dicks," funny changed to cop out maybe because of those religious or business people

Maybe Smith is one of those people whose weight is connected to his emotional state.

In which case I hope he soon becomes happier and healthier. I know that his stuff doesn't appeal to everybody but I dig what he does and I'd prefer that he not be one of those talented people whose appettites put them into an early and non-productive grave...

I noticed he seems to get really fat during the post production of his films, fattest in the weeks before release. Must be a combination of the stress and sedentary lifestyle during the post period. He really needs to get it together, otherwise he's not going to be around much longer.

For a long time I was on a pattern of gaining a lot of extra weight on shows - especially stressful ones, the greater the stress-level the more the weight gain, what with the usual endless supply of candy and chips and cookies and soda and all the other gods-awful snack stuff that proliferates in production break rooms.

Then I'd drop the weight between shows. This worked until I hit a point where there wasn't much of any 'between-show' time.

Finally gave up and hired a trainer and wrote off the junk food for good. That's worked out a lot better.

Some friends tend to lose 30ish pounds during shooting (producing/directing) then gain it back after and put on another 30ish pounds from eating cheese burgers all day in the edit room. About the only time I ever see a guy go from 200lbs to 170lbs then up to 230lbs.

i have no clue what he eats but he was under presure for i dunno 10 years lol

i know weinsteins (rich jewish brothers) through him a nice amount of money
hollywood nyc(since 2 have become one) for years people kissed his ass lol

many directors have come and gone, big money fame & success does stuff
also i have done research for myself and come to the understanding why
mr smith has a family a house a wife(a sexy one) man needs inspiration

every successful person has been inspired unless they come from $$$
or a few people i have noticed (have connections and get helped)

The Weinsteins are Jewish?!

Wow, the thing one learns, around here.

No Sh*t!

Funny thing is of Kevin's $25M est net worth they paid him out less than $5M total. His website kevin-smith.wikia.com is valued at $8M along with a couple others that make up most of his net worth.

Here's a pic of his home gym, LOL :) seriously...
