Geez man, I loved the video, but these stills made me appreciate it even more. The one where the guy is walking in, back to the camera, I was amazed at the amount of changes you made. The cables on the ground, the lighting, the coloring. Insane man!

I guess I'm completely new to the world of "post production", b/c I had no idea you could do all that.

Awesome job.

Hey rich! Where was I through this hype . . . well what a deserved hype over a great video! The limit. My highest complements can only be summed up into one fitting phrase 'you have a production mind nad the talent to get what you see on screen'. Fantastic to have you in the dvx family big bro! ;D

I am myself a filmaker (mostly music video and commercials) and I also work with 3d software like 3ds Max and Maya in attempt to enrich and complete the set or even create 3d characters and special effects. You can see that on my website www.moviefactory.ro .
And I used to shot with all sort of cameras (Sony DSP 250; DSP 150 P and others including some models of Sony Betacam and Betacam SP) . But now I'm tired of all that fields trouble and I decided to buy the only affordable progressive camera, the DVX100A ( well...DVX100E because I'm in Europe). But I have some doubts, because the low price. And even so the camera is highly acclaimed in some circles, almost all screengrabs I saw on the net seems unsuitable for a music videos (and worse then a normally Sony minidv in a 5000 $ price tag). Maybe the screengrabs were worse because were shot inappropriate or maybe because there where NTSC and I'm used with PAL wich have a higher resolution. I don't know. But the music video you made seem to be very good and with a good quality. But because the file was resized for internet purposes, I can't be sure of the quality of the picture. I know you are probably very busy but can you post ( or email to DELETED AT POSTER's REQUEST BY MOD) some uncompressed full size frames ? Maybe with and without color postprocess. You can make the screens png. Because PNG is compressed lossless.
And question number two : Let's say you shot a subject. You probably know that effect or technique when the subject is clear but 10 inch in front of him, everything is in blur.. and the same.. 10 inch in his back everything is in blur (I mean very much blur). You usually make that sort of shoting with the zoom set to maximum and with manual focus. I saw the
"Century Optics 1.6x Tele-converter for the Panasonic AG-DVX100". Can you make that kind of shooting with that lens ? And if I buy that lens, I have to buy something else (some accesories for mounting the lens) ? Or in the package is everything I need for mounting the lens... Thanks.

drummerboy678-the only reason i did so much to the images of the guy in the reception area...was because there was no way i could get a place that had a cool lobby to let us shoot there...so push came to shove and i had to do something, so i just shot in a crappy place then rotoed it all out and replaced it with better looking stuff. i dont recommend doing that...if you can get the place, get the place...i would much rather have just shot in a real location. would have saved me much time.

when i get a moment i will do a proper little page for the video on my site, with some higher rez still and maybe a few different formats of the video. i think the abnd is going to be puttig up on their site as well in a few different formats.

anyway, im about to deliver the final to the band. hoping it will get on tv and whatnot, we will see...

Richie, why didn't you just build a green/blue screen and shoot infront of that rather than rotoscoping everything frame by frame?

Time constraints?

anyway, yeah, we just had NO time at all to set up a green screen in the amount of time we had that set for. i was also a little nervous about spill and whatnot from the screen. as well as how crappy a poorly light green screen might be to key on dv...just all those elements made my shy away from it for that video. next time i will try to experiement with it and see if i can get good results.

This video rocks......I'm a musician / producer who just got my DVX100a a week ago and still haven't had time to party with it. I aspire to make vidios like this.....keep it up and keep us posted with your other work.
