its great!!!!

but the frame shake was driving me insane.... its cool buti feel like it should be stronger in the begining, then gently fade down. you can keep it but its hard to look at a frame bounce that much every 3/4 a second.

but other than that its amazing work. I love the Editing and the composition

Like others said jerky in the beginning.  But otherwise really well done.  But the biggest thing is you gave away the fact that he changed into the girl too soon.  As soon as you see the red lips. We shouldn't know this until the very end.

sweet! thanks guys. i think im going with the no shake version...much easier on the eyes.

Gary_McClurg- thanks for reinforcing that. i have to color correct the lip to be a lip with no lipstick...i wish we would have shot her with out makeup on the day but we just had no time at all. now she is gone on a dance tour so she isnt around. anyway, i tried, but im colorblind as hell! so i am having a friend color correct the lips and eyes...need to get rid of the eye makeup as well...and the ear rings.

rob- the plugins i use all the time are. frischluft for lens blur. all the RE: plugins like motion blur and twixtor, magic bullet, knoll lens flare, and grain surgery. but it looks like AE 6.5 has GS in it now...so its all good.

well since I didn't see any updates for a while I went to BF's website and they'll be playing in LA sometime in Nov. (guess u already new that) are they gonna be premiering the vid out there?

how about combustion 3?

if u wanna change just one specific color, it can be easily
done on Pinnacle's liquid Edition 5.5, (color replace)  6 just came out but I don't know much about new features.

hey unix, i used premiere pro 1 to edit. i have ae 6.5, but i just havnt gotten around to using it yet or installing the any plugins ...so im just sticking with 6.0. also i try not to get into new versions of software too fast so that i can do alot of this stuff on work machines...we dont always get the new software right away. as far as the color correction, it was the bleach bypass setting in magic bullet, and i made a little psd file for the vignetting.

i hear combustion is great. im just more comfortable sticking with the abobe stuff.

i just looked up Layne from Alice in chains and yeah, they do totaly look similer! i think the metallica one video had a similer look...it was coolish and contrasty..right? i havnt seen it in a while.

i havnt kept up too much with where the band plays...they just moved to los angeles and have been playing at the viper room alot. and they just got back from a west coast tour. i think they are going to do well.

definitly post the amusement park stuff man..is it dvx footage?

Hey Rich,
Really nicely done. The post work is absolutely amazing. I can only imagine how many hours you sit in front of the computer! The directional stuff was well done too. Did you have a crane in the doctors consulting office?

You asked about the shaking and if it's bothersome. I'm assuming the shaking is a post addition and not on the source footage. If that's the case, maybe you want to try to time the shaking to the beats of the music? It would take some work to do but might add an aditional cool element to the feel of the piece.

How did you get the medical lab location?

Rich, I'm glad to see the 'almost final' version of this video. Comes together nicely. You've still got an artifact or two around the head of one of those guys doing the three doctor shot pushing the gurney.

I dislike the frame flipping at the end, and I agree with whoever said you give the punchline away too early with the face unveiling. Her lips ARE a giveaway!

Otherwise, fantastic. Inspirational for my music video work, thanks for sharing.

STORYTELLER32-we paid for the lab place. its a standing set in west los angeles. yeah, we rented a portajib from wooden nickle in north hollywood. i took the shake out completly in the version thats online now.

cinebuddy- once i have some time tonight i will tell youa bit about my workflow between premiere and AE.

Mikel_Low- we didnt do a making of. i think some of the band guys had some digicams with them. not sure how well documented the shoot was. if i find some i will upload some stills to my site.

speedbump-yeah, that lip shot...just isnt working. i was hoping to get away with it. i just really really like it...but its causing more problems then its worth...i'll mess around with it some more to see if i can get it to work...but i might just have to ditch it...i think i have some shots of a chin i can replace it with...thanks for the comments man!

Rich, really fine work. Extremely professional and a great look. I'm not a fan of choppy editing in general but I loved it in this video.

There's not much more to say other than you are a true artist.

thanks for the complement disjecta!  i learned a whole lot from this and cant wait to do the next one. i think the choppy edit has its place. i needed it in this one just to get through the amount of stuff i wanted to show. the jump cuts in the earlier bits especialy, we just dont have time to sit through the guy walking in and meeting and leaving frame or sitting down. i tried to make it as classy as i could. i definitly had to tone down the timing a bit. i just get worried people will get bored. but im getting better i think. in the begining i was totaly thinking peolpe were going to hate it and that they would think it was boring..so i tushed the edits a bit...even more then they are now...anyway, its all working out. i'm glad you liked it!
