Just got my C100 nice...

Have you tried the Canon Data Import Utility? I imported directly into FCPX, but I'm wondering if the utility will do this... I don't have it on hand though, will have to try it out later.

simply loading C100 footage into a progressive project does not seem to work automatically (unless you shot in 24P of course!).
OK had time to shoot something and test this, it must have been a project setting problem. Confirming what AndreeOnline has said:

If you make a 25P project in FCPX then when a C100 AVCHD PF25 file is dropped into the project FCPX will automatically background render it into progressive, no other settings need to be changed. Really simple workflow. However, you must make sure you set the project to 25P manually when it is created, don't use the "Set based on first video clip" option.

I admit I haven't read through the whole ProVideo Coalition article but... Wait a minute!.. Are we back to those non-true progressive modes issue with Canon?!.. Back when Canon XLH1 was released, Canon came up with that 24F instead of 24P thing. Are we back to progressive modes that are not true progressive modes?

As far as I understand, Progressive Segmented Frame (PsF) Files are progressive files (whole frames) which are divided into two segments to mimic interlaced footage, when imported to application which only open interlaced video. What's the point of the Canon C100 recording PsF files instead of true P files, if it already records in interlaced mode, when 50i 0r 60i are chosen?
