Just got my 7D...BUT...

ok...so i live in Jamaica and a friend of mine was in the US recently. So to avoid the ridiculously expensive custom charges i shipped my 7D to his location. He brought it in for me....so now i have my 7D....YES! :2vrolijk_08:.....


but...being the forgetful type...he left all the CD's and Instruction manual stuff and USB cable :(
this is my first dslr so that really would have helped me a bunch and now i dont have any software to go with it (i;m not sure how important that is or not). He called his sister where he was staying and she cant find it :(

So if any of you experienced 7D owners out there that dont need your insrtuction manual or the 2 cd's that came with it and would like to help out a new 7d owner i'd really appreciate it. I'd give u a US address to send it to (in florida).

I;m now waiting on my tamron 17-50mm VC lens. :)
 
The EOS Utility is not available for download on Canon's site, or at least wasn't. But if you call Canon's customer service they might send you something.
 
And the E0S utility does what exactly Cassius?

Also the offers still open if anyone wants to send their manual to me. Its cool to downlaod and all...and at least I can get started...but it would be good to have a hard copy to read. Reading all this at the pc isn't 2 appealing.

Oh..and is it wrong to want to go to bed with ur 7d beside u when u first get it :) ....cuz I do. I'm being tortured waiting on this lens.
 
The EOS Utility allows you to assign custom picture styles. Without it your in camera settings are quite limited. The Picture Style Creator is good, too. I'd offer to mail you a burned copy but I don't know if it would actually work, some programs check for the authentic CD. I'll check if I get time.
 
Ok so i downlaoded the EOS Utility through a torrent. Apart from the this and the manual, what else do i need? do i Need all those stuff on the website? (the link Michigan gave me)

Also ...does it matter if i format the CF card in camera or pc?

(still awaiting my lens...so i cant shoot anything. Torture)

Hey Jordan...the only things I ordered was the 7d, tamron lens an extra battery and a 16g card. I only had the $ for that at the moment. But I wanted to learn the camera in the meantime till I can afford my shoulder mount and monitor.

Yeh Steve...its crazy for real. But its very localized and only confined to some parts of the capital city...kingston. I'm in kingston, but the craziness isn't in my area. The news abroad makes it look like the entire island is going crazy but its really a small part of the capital. However even though its not in my area, it can spread easily so you have to know where to go and be vigilant and exercise wisdom.
