Hello,

Well we finished our final cut of the film last night. This was a 48 hour shoot and edit project, with a bit of extra polishing over the last week.

I'm happy with the results and all feedback has been positive so far.

Oh, and I got to use my new DIY dolly too!!!

That actor was creepy dude. He was spot on in the role. Good flick.

Thanks!

Yeah, Peter is great. He's going to be starring in my next film too. So many little things were all him... like the singing the dancing song with the dog!

Lol that guy on some angles looks like Robert Deniro. Even in mannerism.

Good job. Interesting story.

I thought you did a great job with the tone and atmosphere in this film. It was consistent throughout.

The actor was very good. There was something not quite right with his character and gave a certain tension to all of the scenes which was good.

Well done.

Thanks for the positive feedback... I'm really excited about making more film... this was really my first "serious" film, and considering we made it, start to finish in less than two days, I couldn't be happier.

I've been watching the other films, and I'll make coments once I've gotten thru them all (about half way now), but I'm very impressed with everyone, and I think I'm inspired to get a 35mm adaper or a d90... :)

I must admit, this film was a very eerily pleasurable viewing. I felt a little trepidatious as I learned more about the man, but I genuinely wanted to know more about him. The performance got a little stiff and somewhat forced at times, but I feel that through the majority of the film, he really nailed the part.

And I must say, the direction was very strong throughout. I liked the way the film moved and the types of relationships to the outside world that were set up. The colors were very much on par for a film of this nature, and I really enjoyed many shots. The texture of the view from outside looking in as the dog is going for the "big jump" was very pleasing.

The music was subtle and not abrasive. I'm still a little confused as to WHY he would be drawing in chalk on his desk. I understand it in the context of the film, but him simply being a bit of a paranoid schizophrenic or having some mental disorder seems to be pushing it a little. It's a plot device, but it certainly works out in the end.

Anyway, really interesting film!

I loved your goofy/creepy lead. He was awesome. He reminds me of Michael Rooker. Kinda like if the principle from Back to the Future were a child molester.

Okay, so I have to voice a complaint from my wife about the comments...

Everyone has said what a good Job Peter did, but no one has mentioned Kreacher... the dog!!

She's very upset... :D

Kreacher did a damn good job. :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

The dog behaved very well. :)

This was odd and interesting. I enjoyed it. Great character. He kept me watching, wondering. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it but it left me thinking about it.

That's a great accomplishment in general.

Nice job.

Nice short! It had great atmosphere. As others have said, your lead actor was great. There were subtleties to his performance that really drew me into his character. Kreacher did a great job too! Working with animals is never easy, but he appeared to hit all his marks!

I liked the twist at the end! All the way through you had me wondering where it was going.

Overall, I liked this short. It did a nice job of making me think about the subject of loss and what it means.

liked it for sure. Very intriging. Agree lead actor was great. I don't give credit to the dog but whoever had to deal with getting him to do what you wanted. The compatence of dogs is so overrated :). I think I got the story but there maybe more I missed idk.

Thank you so much for not going the scary route I thought you were going to go when you had that dog on the ledge... I thought he was going to jump or fall and I was about to go crazy on this thread... I have a terrier and he's one of the most important living things in my life :) I would have immediately had to cease enjoying films and go spend the whole day with him to get over the shock of what I may have experienced... so thanks for having the guy die instead :)

Kreacher was great... I loved every moment that I saw Kreacher. I nominate him for best canine performance of the fest.

Your lead was interesting in a creepy, Tim Burtonish' manner... I just found him fun to watch and was really glad he didn't look at the camera and break the fourth wall... that would have seriously scared me.... Good writing and directing in that regard... creepy is hard to pull off well and I think you really did nail it.

That whole sequence at 4:35 to 4:55 is really good... well planned shots and execution, it's even better on the second viewing.

Thanks for sharing!

The chalk drawings on the floor and furniture is really nice touch in this creepy film. I've seen this type of story played out before but you executed it in the best possible way. You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you certainly did. Congratulations on a job well done.

Thanks alot for the feedback. I'm really glad you liked it. Kreacher was great out on the ledge... tho my wife was a bit hesitant to let me put her out there... don't worry, I was actually laying just out of the shot so she couldn't fall!

Oh and I should point out that Kreacher's performance was actually better than you even realise, because she's a girl dog and was only playing a boy!! :D

I thought this film was very interesting and set a great mood. I just wasn't impressed by the lead though - he was a little over-the-top for my taste and I just didn't buy the performance.

The direction was very strong though - I really wish you had compressed this film to 50MB instead of 28 so everything was a bit crisper. Nice job overall. And the dog was great :)
