Jupiter-8 50mm f2 vintage lens question

Hey all,

So recently I have been using a lot of russian vintage lenses, my most recent purchase being the Jupiter-8 50mm f2. It is M39 mount so I got a M39 to EOS adapter. My main problem is that regardless of where I turn the focus ring, the focus always remains at the closest focusing distance. Does this lens simply not work when adapted? I found another adapter on eBay that specifically says it is for jupiter M39 mount, does such a thing actually exist or are they just calling it a different name? Thanks for the help all, I hope there is a way I can use this lens.

You're better off with m42 lenses. A lot of m39 lenses will only give you macro focus with a m39 to eos adapter. I suggest buying a m42 to eos adapter and a m39 to m42 step up ring and use those.

So if I use the combination of the two adapters I should be able to focus throughout the whole range? Thanks for the help!

If it's a Zenit m39, as opposed to a Leica, then yes. I don't if that lens came in more than leica m39 mount. Did the sale page say it was LTM or Leica screw? If so, no go. If not, ask the seller to be sure.

I'd go with m42 and Nikon in the future.
