because he's a secret admirer of 24p.![]()
of course they are, the question is when. always too late it seems. sometimes a revolutionary camera like the dvx comes around, but not that often. when we've figured out workarounds for several years the product we once wanted finally comes, and then it's old news and we're already working our ways around something else.Maybe Nikon is working on something that will blow all this other crap away.
Apparently, thefoundry used the same principle discussed in here, October last year:

A close friend of mine had himself exactly the same insight a couple of months ago, but differently from us, in some days he created a very elegant solution using Twixtor PRO in AE.
Look at the first tests:
(he took D90 samples from vimeo, so I think is better to not post it on youtube)

Time to render 1000 frames: ~15 min on an imac (the same amount of time of twixtor rendering)
I'll ask him permission to post the last version of this AE project in here, its has no twixtor distortion of any kind, is amazing
Any news fr4om your friend? I would really like to see what he accomplished with twixtor..
me too. theoretically it should just be a matter of time shifting each line by a different amount. maybe control it with a gradient map? we don't need the project, just tell us what he did. the experimenting is what's hard, once you know the workflow it should be straightforward.
