Record uncompressed 14-bit (4:4:4) on your HVX200

Any news at all on Hydra? It has been what, almost 6 weeks since NAB?
I remember watching a NAB video where Juan said they would be posting a Table with frame rates, frame sizes, gigabit and color info for the different modes etc on their page that night and it never happened.

I believe it has been updated. Check it out:

And the link to the table with format, frame rate, etc is here:

Ok, I missed the table link, but the rest is the same as it has been since NAB. No new updates.
How about the footage and dynamic range tests Juan said were going to be posted within 3-4 weeks from NAB? It's hard to believe it will make the shipping estimate they announced when it seems to be going so slow.

Well thats how it is. Dont hold your breath. These things take time. He may have hit a wall in development, or is about to realease for all we know. Just check th site in a week see what it says.

Patience. He's not a big multinational corporation. He's one brilliant man toiling away in his labratory. It's coming...

its my understanding that the hvx is a 444 in, 422 out, just like its 1080p in 1080i out. so the trick would have to be bypassing the compressor, going straight to the chips, with yourown digitizer cause the chips are actually anolog, to your own drive.

Been a while since there was any news in this thread.
I hope it's not going to "do a Cineporter"

Hello,

All these cameras have RGB imaging heads to it's a bit ambiguous to put a Y:U:V(/Y:Cb:Cr) sampling notation. There is color information overlap on the RGB color space so it's not a simple matter of just counting how many R,G,B samples per site and counting it as one Y/U/V. Both Andromeda and Hydra record capture single site and bit of color available from the imaging head. The output from the system is literally the best that the hardware can physically provide.

We've been swamped, between doing Andromeda installations working on the new SculptorHD and xLUT, and of course Hydra. Everything is moving along, we've been concentrating on getting the hardware finished and get some beta boards in. The hardware stage is not very glamorous, sorry if there isn't much to say. Lots of place and routing. :)

Here a screenshot of the latest SculptorHD/xLUT software:

Cheers,
Juan

The current Andromeda+DVX system works in 24P/24PA mode, while the Hydra system will support all frame rates available in the camera.

Cheers,
Juan
