Jay Leno...

Wow, what a bastard.

So he basically said, "Yeah I'm going to take the Tonight Show (I'll change the name, get some new furniture) and show it an hour before you do Conan."

What pisses me off is that I thought it was going to be different enough not to show something similar to what Conan would be doing (musical performances, celebrity guests) but nope, Jay Leno's Tonight Show never left.

It's like a divorced couple. The mom goes to buy her child a shiny new toy car, Dad gets wind of this and buys it first. Complete d*ck move on NBC's part, stop trying to steal Conan's spotlight, he's earned it for crying out loud!

Jay's the boss. He can do whatever he likes. I imagine he'll place his car show(s) prime time sooner or later.

I'm pretty sure they're both doing just fine.
I have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone's career when they make more in a night than most of us will make in a lifetime.

(That said - I have never understood why Jay Leno is on TV)

The Jay Leno bumpers had me thinking the new show would be good... which would have really restored my faith in humanity... because I am eternally stumped watching the masses choose poop sandwiches over filet... but there's no point losing sleep over it... because everybody's got poop mustaches as they laugh their guts out at mediocre comedy.

Give 'em what they want... even if it's milquetoast sh*t.

Whatever... maybe that means I can do it.

I have never understood the Leno appeal. He has never been funny to me.

Conan on the other hand - I was sold back when he would do staring contests with Andy Richter.

I like Conan... never got Leno. But I'm so out of the habit of watching the 11:30pm buffoonery. I flip over to Stewart/Colbert at 11:00.

I think Leno is great. While I may not find him sidesplittingly funny, he is definitely very witty, quick off the cuff and not mean spirited.

It's all in the agent, of course. Jay would still be sellin' Doritos without that feisty gal.

troof.

Seinfeld was on Jay's show last night, funny quote...

"You know, when we quit a show in the 90s, WE ACTUALLY LEFT."

In any rate, I don't wish to revist Mr. Chin and his sharp interviewing skills...viva The Tonight Show.
