C300: James Corden skit.

One thing I've always liked about the Canon C series cameras is that once you have a common firmware build and a common profile on random cameras , then the match between cameras can be spot on.
 
The ol' C300 still working in late 2016, and a few gigs already booked in '17. It won't die... (and I'm ok with that).

Very simple really, but it's in the details...
The James Corden skit was shot with the Day/Int look.

Day/Int
Gamma Normal 3
Black > Master Pedestal -2
Sharpness > Level -4
Noise Reduction 2
Color Matrix > Normal 3, Gain +1
Clip at 100% > Off

Day/Ext
Gamma > Cine 1
Black > Master Pedastal -14
Sharpness > -2
Noise Reduction 1
Color Matrix > Cine 1, Gain +25
Clip at 100% > Off

What?? "The old C300"???

The list of cameras that makes a better image than these things is a pretty short list. STILL.
 
I just watched Cartel Land which was also C300 Mk1 and that looked terrific . I remember when the 300 came out, a well known DIT in NYC said to me - "its only 50mbps codec , but its the right 50mbps". If you don't need 4k, the Mk1 C300 with the right profile makes a great looking image.
