Is this DSLR Rig a nice choise with my budget?

I wouldn't count on cheap kits like that to hold up over the long run. Those follow focus units are notoriously inaccurate with lots of backlash.

Something else to consider: the shoulder mount does not have any way of rigging counterweight. How are you going to work over extended shooting schedules with a shoulder rig like that, if you have to stay hand-held? Your arms will be doing so much work just in supporting the weight of the camera and all the other stuff that they'll have little time or energy for doing things like focusing; it also makes for shaky footage as the forearms start to tire.

yes. correctly. but is there a way to set up any thing behind that for balancing? and if i use an assistant for focus?have u any suggestion for other sholder mount? only in cheap budget. under 500$

Go with Jag35. They have a lot of great and quality gear for low budget Filmmakers. I think you can find there something for 500$.

Gini rigs off ebay. I was in the same "budget" boat too. Decided that Gin rigs look better and offered a more for the money.
Good pricing and many different configurations all for around $300. Doesn't come with the flags, but you can grab a cheap one off amazon for like $40.
I got something like his:[h=1]Gini Rigs DSL-500 DSLR Camera Rig[/h]I got mine for about $299. He has various configurations up at any moment, so just be patient and check back often.

gini rigs with fallow focus and matt box will be more than 500$

hummm... well i guess i wasn't clear enough.
You can buy a Gini rig for UNDER $300 with follow focus. You need to be PATIENT, and check back often as the prices of the rigs can vary from week to week.
As I said, I bought the DSL-500 setup for $399 with follow focus. $299 without the follow focus.

As for a Matt box, I think ive seen them for as low as $20...

Although, these are as cheap as they come.
I'd spring for one that can swing away and you can lock down the hood "flags". (seen those for under $100)

Well good luck with your search.

The Jag35 stuff is pretty good. I've built rigs with various parts from them - but I've had some minor problems with the centering of their rod openings - on my current rig it's pretty hard to get the shoulder mount on and off, seems like the rod ends flare out a bit.

The main problem I've seen with cheaper rigs is that everything can flex a bit. I ended up getting two camera risers from Jag and tapping/drilling a baseplate to hold them. No more teeter-totter camera.

I think they're selling the D|Focus now - for the $$ it's very good. If you're shooting DSLR lenses, chances are you'll have bigger problems with the image center wobbling during rack focusing than with cheap FF issues. Most of my Nikon lenses have this problem, they're not designed to be perfectly stable during a focus move and it's easy to have the image center jump a bit when you touch the focus wheel, especially with longer lenses.

does any body use this?
nobody who cares about their end product ; )

if you want to buy something to impress passers by on the street (or dumb clients), this might be a decent choice, but thats about it

What are the drawbacks of this device?
that SINGLE rod from the baseplate to the shoulder pad cant be very stable
that mattebox isnt really a mattebox. is really just a sunshade
and then the other thing people have mentioned about not being able to counter balance

is fallow focus working correctly on that?
pretty much ANY follow focus under $1000 is likely to be inaccurate and have noticeable backlash.
about the only sub-$1000 follow focus ive used that seemed pretty solid is the tilta

thanks for replies. so i give up to buy that. but im looking for another shuolder mount. perhaps buy a jag35 shoulder. its better choise.

does'nt anybody have an idea about lcdvf under 100$?
