Yes i realy like this GH2 of mine ,ok no 25P, the E-T-C is not as good as some say IMO ,the AF is not like a camcorder AF but i can live with those, the only real gripe is this
http://vimeo.com/23746244
is it whats called sky banding, why does the GH2 do it,i have tried all ways to lessen the extent thats there with all lenses and worse following moving subjects like in the shot,i have never experienced the like before with any cam or DSLR :Drogar-Mad(DBG):

Banding or fpn....usually its a long line (band) that appears either vertically (dark one at high iso's- some gh1) or horizontal (blue one at certain shutter speeds- some gh2)
Both are somewhat down to sensitivity with the camera sensors and can be worked around by fiddling with exposure/using faster lenses.

Its annoying that panasonic GH cameras have this issue. banding is also pretty random between models...some have less...some have more.

Maybe GH3 will have both then we can play naughts and crosses ;-)

Banding is what is displayed in that video - AVCHD codec having 8-bit color depth, with no dithering. FPN is the signal noise present at high ISO on the GH1 and very high ISO on the GH2.

This isnt banding but the limitations of 8 bit colour depth from the codec. GH1 has it also.

I think what is displayed in video is "color-banding", which is precisely the result of insufficient color-depth:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding

When most graphics-people talk about banding they are talking about "color-banding" as seen in the video and explained in the linked wikipedia entry. "Posterization" is a synonomous term to "banding' in this sense.

GH2 has different anomaly that results in a single horizontal band across image, roughly one-third of way up from bottom, that a lot of GH2 people call "banding". GH1 has fixed pattern noise that is also different from color-banding.

Confused so i was correct thinking its banding and caused by the limitations of the 8 bit color depth from the codec.
