Is the Sigma 50mm worth it if I have 30mm?

So I'm trying to decide what lens I should purchase next.. I'm currently using a Sigma 30mm f1.4 quite happily, but I just love the shallow DoF I see in 50mm footage all around.

I was really considering to get a Sigma 50mm or Canon 50mm, however the focal length is so close to the 30mm, would I be better off working with an 85mm? Then moving the camera position could cover the 50mm range (at least until I can afford one) between the 85mm and 30mm lenses I'd have.

Is it worth having a 50mm and 30mm, or should I just jump to 85mm?

I just got the Sigma lens you are talking about, and I also have the Canon EF 50mm f1.8. It's $100 (dirt cheap) and a very good lens. It's reviewed very well, and I and quite a few on this board have the inexpensive 50mm and like it very much, especially for the price.

The 50mm is better for portraits IMO. It's definetly the more classic portrait look (longer lens, shallow DOF) With that said, you can get a very, very shallow DOF with the Sigma f1.4.

If I were to only have 1 lens, I would take the Sigma. However, for $100 more you can get the Canon 50mm f1.8, you really have nothing to lose.

Yeah, I'm heavily considering the Canon f1.8. People are saying the quality is amazing for the price, but also at the same time, I don't know if the quality is worth sacrificing for the price either. If I were to save up for a 50mm, would I be better off with a Canon 1.4? Maybe not, since the 30mm will already do so well in low light, but I dunno.

Will I even use a Canon 50mm f1.8 if I have the Sigma 30mm? The sharpness, bokeh, and overall quality will be worse at the expense of a different focal length.
