Is it possible to remotely trigger T2i in video mode wirelessly? What I want to do is be able to wirelessly trigger a T2i to start to recording video from across a room like an auditorium, lecture hall or church. Anybody doing this?

I know the cheapo wireless remote i got will do that from a short distance. I don't know if you could do it across an auditorium though.

Hey, I bought one of those $10 wireless remotes - I tried everything in the manual and via google, but it won't trigger video.

Any tips you can give me?

I've seen the video where the guy hacked the IR emitter so you can use these with cranes, etc - cool as hell, I want!

I bought this cheap remote on eBay for $4:

I put the camera in movie mode, go into the menu and "enable remote" then press the "2s" button on the remote and it starts recording video. Press it again to stop recording. If I press the "S" button it takes a still image.

I read somewhere that this is good too and doesn't use IR for the remote, so the distance is longer and more reliable:
