C200: Is Canon EOS C200 right for me, for my documentaries?

Hi, I use a Sony AX100 for my 4K ethnic documentaries around the world. The next month I'd like to replace my Sony AX100 with another videocamera like .I'm thinking about the new Canon EOS C200. But maybe I make some errors because I like to travel alone and sometimes I shoot in auto mode. Maybe it is better I will buy another real and easier videocamera. But I'd like to get a better image quality than Sony AX100 in 4K. What is your suggestions?
thanks

Shooting raw with that camera is a pleasure. On par with first Red sensors. Never seen such a nice, smooth image from a camera that you can carry, with lenses, on a single backpack. And shoot all day with a couple of relatively small batteries.
But shooting long form isn't really viable, unfortunately, because raw needs too much storage space. MP4 are pretty nice too, but If I'd only shoot on the lesser codec, I'd probably choose the even lighter EVA1

4k, 60p, mp4, DPAF, ND Filters, EVF, and XLR connections. RAW for shots that need to wow people. Pretty much ticks all the boxes for me as far as docs are concerned.

Not sure if a $7,500.00 video camera in full auto everything mode is going to get you a significantly better result. I might suggest that NOT shooting in auto mode with any camera will get you a better result. Cameras are dumb, you need to determine white balance, exposure, although Canon's DPAF can do a pretty good job in most situations with focus.

C300 MK II might be a better option for docs.
I’ve shot a lot of doc work with a Mk1 & Mk2 . In your case I’d opt for the 300mk2 mostly because you get the ‘right size’ codec for long form work. I like the idea of raw light but if you are working on your own, the codec is pretty weighty data wise and will bog you down eventually. I haven’t worked with the mp4 codec offered by the c200 but due to its 8 bit spec, I’m less than enthusiastic about it. I can put my light weight c300 doc kit in a back pack and have enough batteries and cards to shoot long form all day without having to compromise with the mp4 codec.

This.

Sounds like the OP priorities ease of use above everything else (thus why they have their current camera).

If I was them I might consider the Sony X70 (for ease of use with audio controls), and keep his current AX100 as a B cam for another angle (such as when doing interviews, or recording live events).
