Irony -the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning
I'm confused. A picture of an event (wedding?, black tie affair? who knows?)
with a fence in the background.
If it's a wedding, is she the daughter? is she a bridesmaid? who knows?
Barbed wire? are you saying its a prison? I doubt that, who knows?
I'm confused why a single picture of events and people that we don't know the relevance of is "ironic".
Sorry.
Your first post ever.
In the Cafe?
Dissing?
Dude.
Seriously?
I owe you one.I was beginning to lose hope.......Come on guys. It's ironic because they decided to take their wedding photo with a barbed in fence in the background, repressenting marriage as a prison rather than a unity. It could be even more ironic when you take her holding the roses (repressenting love) in the foreground while the barbed fence is behind him in the background. There's a lot of irony that can be read into that.
He made... a JOKE.I think it would be more metaphoric or symbolic, rather then ironic.
It is ironic that it is symbolic but not ironic at face value.
By this logic, a picture of a plane on top of a fireplace would be ironic... because the worst thing you would want to have is a plane on fire.
