Insectula trailer

Haha this is fun, I wish old school B thrillers were more mainstream. Let me know If I can help you out in anyway. If you in LA I have a full 7d settup with monitor, rails, follow focus, ect, I also have lights, and a good amount of audio stuff from my wedding days.

Good luck,

I love it!

Seems like a good late night summertime popcorn movie like some of the old Troma stuff.
Are you going to have a DVD copy for sell?

Thanks, no not in LA in Minnesota. Yes I will have DVD but that will be a long time in coming as I'm about a third done with it. The trailer's goal is for recruiting and investment purposes.

hahahahaha...I really enjoyed it despite my lack of interest in B movie like this!!! I wouldn't mind acting in it at all!! Well done..

Oh yeah, the Lighting and Sound were really good to be honest...great work on that department too.

This looks really cool, I'm not a horror fan (because I'm a big chicken) but I hope you get the investors you are looking for and INSECTULA get completed. Best of luck.

I think you could make a good chunk of change with this.

If you're actually a third of the way finished with it... and can finish it WELL without investors... I'd be tempted to do that on your own dime so you don't have to split the profits of DVD sales... UNLESS you can find an investor who will also do a lot to ensure wide-spread distribution, while leaving you a fair percentage of the gross (or net) profit.

Low budget horror can get a cult following with significant national and global sales... especially when you have a trifecta of sexy girls, "cheesy" concept, and reasonable fx. You've got all three of those in spades.

My favorite part of the trailer is when the super-hot lab assistant is standing next to the doctor who's cutting into the eye and getting spattered with blood... and the only reaction of the hot lab assistant is to put on her safety glasses LOL!

Well I've gotten a pretty well connected exectutive producer on board who is telling me to get investors anyways so others have some steak in the outcome. I can certainly complete it on my own but wouldn't be that timely, and she says that it will be harder to get distributors on board if I'm still say a year away from this thing.
Going after foreign dists first.

really liked it! I laughed a lot....seriously......
anyways just wondering....did you mean to set the sharpness extremely high in camera?
it looks as though it was

I shot it pretty neutral; I might have punched up the sharpness in post. I did add grain which maybe what you are seeing. This is not the final grade but a relatively quick grade to get the trailer out

Hmmmmmmmmm the end lines felt over the top. Really gotta keep the balance on a film like this, if it falls because it's trying too hard you sort of punch the air out..... the diff between "hehe, awesome!" and "bleh, it didn't need that."

Interesting you should point that out because I went back and forth on that ...taking them out then putting them back in. I didn't edit the first cut of the trailer and took them out when I took my swipe at it, but then it seemed the consensus was saying put them back in and was talked into it

Maybe just text + a short dramatic tune repeated (no voice reading it) Then it sort of "charges up" a bit of more humor, especially if the sound is repeated each time. Like trumpets or something.

awesome! you rocked out excellent work here! great choice in faces. i would love to see the whole thing.
i think you will recoup! Would love to know what you have spent so far and how much of the post production you do in house -vs- hire

Thanks! I spent about $2000 so far and am about 1/3rd the way into it. Doing all post in house so far

$2000! thanks for sharing. inspirational - you are the man!
Im gonna mount a similar production in terms of scope hopefully to top out at $5k
I love the feel and style and creepy people - grade A.
How many pages is your script and what are you eyeing for your final run time guesstimate?
