The Countryman B6 is the smallest. It can be hidden behind a shirt button, or even in plain sight depending on what it's sitting on.
When it is exposed, however, it is susceptible to wind.

Yes, I'm familiar with the B6, but I thought they only came wired and not wireless.
Also, is the size really that important if you can just hide the lav under the shirt?
Do you know what I'm saying?
My only hesitation would be recording the ambi from that close to a camera. The mics are likely to pickup the sound of the camera and any fiddling around you do.
Two wireless lavs and one receiver? Only if you have a dual-channel receiver, as two transmitters on the same frequency will do nothing but fight with each other.
But you're thinking right as far as recording ambient tracks later as audio-only and laying that in during post. That's pretty much standard. Be sure also, after each set-up with dialog, to record about :30 with everyone standing still, no talking. Use that "room tone" to help in making the dialog edits smoother. Then layer ambient sound beds underneath everything.
Do you know if there are any dual channel receivers out that will mount to the hot shoe of an HV30?
Trey
The hot shoe is hidden under a piece of plastic on top of the camera. It pops right open and that's it.
If I go the Side Slinger route, what do the cables from the receivers plug into?
Trey
Well, this is where it gets complex. You'll need an XLR adapter box...Beachtek is a proven piece of gear. You'll take the audio out of the receivers by XLR cable to the box. The adapter box then converts those inputs to the stereo 1/8" TRS that your camera accepts.
Another reason for going this rout: trying to mount one dual-channel system, or two single-channel systems (by way of a shoe bracket), will overload such a small camera. It'll become top-heavy and a bit unwieldy.
Do you know if this set up can work simultaneously with my DM-50 (external mic) plugged into my hot shoe?
I hate lavs. They never sound natural. Better to do a voice over.
