Both Eva and Marion are too old. In the first scene Shosanna is 16 (1941), next it's two weeks later in Paris, then she's 19 (1944) for the remainder.

She might. The only "older" actress I think could pull of that age is Natalie Portman. But I'm telling you, this girl Tania Raymonde was born to play the part--

German-born Til Shweiger ("Driven," "Lara Croft II") will play either bloodthirsty maniac Hugo Stiglitz, the German-born member of Lt. Aldo Raine's American squad of angry, vengeful Nazi-killing Jews, or Wilhelm Wicki, an Austrian-born American Jew that Raine has taken into the the same squad.

Both are characters in Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic "Inglorious Bastards," which starts shooting in Germany next month.

Also aboard the project is Daniel Brühl ("The Bourne Ultimatum"), 30-year-old Spanish-born son of German director Hanno Brühl. Brühl may be playing the wily Gestapo major Dieter Hellstrom, or perhaps Nazi sniper-hero Frederick Zoller, or perhaps the German-speaking member of Raine's crew not played by Schweiger.

(The press has had Novak as Utivich, but Levine is a much closer match for Utivich physically, so I'm thinking someone might have gotten some wires crossed.)

Jeeezzz! I so hope Til Schweiger get's a role that fits his character. I think he is a good actor, but he can only play a handful of characters in which he is believable.

I think Daniel Brühl is more versatile. Good actor.

Man, I am so looking forward to this movie!

June 2009 according to the IMDB

Cannes 2009 will take place 13-24 May 2009.

It would bum me out to see this pushed back.
 
Yeah, something seems off.

The trailer edit kinda made me wonder if I was supposed to be laughing at times, like when they showed Hitler, and also when Pitt stepped into his mark at the end of the trailer.

Maybe it is just the rhythm of the edit with the campy titles?

At times it seemed like the film is riffing off of Full Metal Jacket, but without the foreboding atmosphere.
 
Well, it's Tarantino and WWII, so I'm definitely going to see this, yet I agree that the trailer seemed too campy.

I've only read the opening scene of the script that was leaked last year. From reading that, I was expecting something a little more serious and realistic. I decided not to finish reading it and was going to wait and just see the film, but now I'm curious as to what the whole tone of this is supposed to be like.
 
I expected a more epic-realistic war feel. This looks more like another Grindhouse entry.

Hopefully its a lot better than it looks here.

I have to agree with Batutta. Brad Pitt just seems oddly mis-cast. Regardless, I will be seeing this opening day.

I'm sure this film will be far from an serious epic war movie. I am glad for that.
