Inglorious Basterds !!!!!!!!!!!

I love Tarantino. He is one of the best directors out there. But I must say that he is going to the same well far to many times. He is starting to become a cliche of himself. How many times can someone make a movie in the style of movies that you loved in the past? Almost every film he makes heavily uses themes and styles of some past film genre that he loves.

Sure, his takes on a particular style typically lead to a great film (with the possible exceptions of the second half of Death Proof and parts of Jackie Brown), but it starts to wear on his legacy as a director. He is fast shifting from an innovative/legendary director to that caricature of the video store clerk making fan-films. He is in danger of being labeled as the director that does big-budget fan-films.

While Inglorious Bastards will likely be a great film I would like to see him make something new as opposed to repackaging something old. I still love his style but I would like to see it applied to a "new" film.

yeah, i like Brad Pitt but not for that role. actually i was thinking more like nolte. but i don't think most people share my respect for the nolt. and he's probably too old now anyway.

Love Nolte; Thin Red Line was rad with him but agree on his age at this time.

I'm 78 pages into the Basterds script

Genius. Wow. Can't stop reading it.

THe Chapter titled "GERMAN NIGHT IN PARIS" is amazing.

Can't wait for this!

Couldn't tell you.

It got leaked for one reason or another; it's still available online for reason or another.

Read it; it's awesome.

Question - is downloading/reading the leaked script illegal?

I'm also not sure on the morality of it.

I'd say technically it's copyright infringement...but that's life in the 21st century. Anyone trying to chase down every illegal piece of data is going fight a losing battle. Short of completely changing the nature of the internet, there isn't much that can be done.

All that's going to change though. Once they start regulating the internet (which is coming sooner than we think I hear) We're going to look back at these days when we're grandpas and say things like, "Back when I was a kid, you could go anywhere you wanted on the internet. And anybody could post anything."

I still can't believe I'm someone who was alive during the birth of the internet. That's like saying you witnessed the single biggest invention in the history of the world. You were there when it all started.

That's why you have to be very careful who you vote for, in elections at every level. Liberty is a dying concept here in the States, but only if apathy rules the day.
