incredibly short movie

I was bored one day so I figured I'd use my DVX100A to make a movie, I had no crew, no cast, no story, no anything really. Just me and my camera. I decided to make it up as I went along. I figure'd I'd only give myself an hour to shoot and edit everything. After it was edited, I hooked up the bass guitar(which I don't know how to play if you couldn't tell) and played a tune for about a minute, guessing the movie was about that. It ended up working. Some shots are out of focus and the lighting is all natural or whatever lamps I had near me at the time.

Any feedback, comments, complaints or anything else are welcome.

I thought it was awesome......great surreal lighting, totally original plot, great use of the 35mm adapter, and wow.....you have really got that steadicam down. I can't believe that you did the sound all on your own. Was that a fig-rig on the opening shot? And....did you build your own crane or is it a commercial one because if you built it then you did a fine job. I'll be anxiously awaiting a feature from you....this was just a little too short.

Oh dude......I waited all this time and had built up this overwelming excitement waiting for this to get linked and all for what????? To see you sit on the crapper?

Ok....guess I should throw in a compliment. Not bad for a one person show....no pun intended :)

Pretty good for what you had. Thoght it had a lot of promise. Good editing and pace. I didn't like the music though, too choppy and uneven for the pacing you estabished.

I know the ending isn't that great. As I said, I made it up as I went along and at the time I couldn't think of another way to end it once I went up stairs. I should have spent more time on the music too, something that did fit a little bit better. Thanks for the compliments about it though.

I did notice the ant crawling across as I went to get my keys. There is also the lens cap on the floor in the hall way when I'm in the bathroom too.

I'm surprised how no one commented on someone keeping keys hidden on a roof.

I'm thinking of making an alternate ending for it tomorrow if I have time before I move.

I was expecting a cameo by Mr. Hankey
or something surreal, like that talking toilet paper

not bad, I think the acting was good, bet it was hard making the dump scene look spontaneous.

Uh ... ok. Congratulations on getting a DVX! Now try this ...
http://www.slapit.com/google.html. (Don't take the name of this site as having anything to do with your sitting on the crapper scene ... :)
Also, try www.freeplaymusic.com for full songs, riffs, etc. by people who already know how to play their instruments.:violin:

Hope you are ok with no-holds barred teasing.

I will say that your framing of shots was quite good. Now that you've gotten the idea, develop it. Get at least one person to help you so you can do the following ...
- Purposeful camera shake would have added to the anxious desperation that the main character was obviously feeling. Can't show that with cam setting on ground or wherever. Adding some sound Fx of guy panting would have added to same effect. Maybe dropping the keys while trying to fit it into the lock also.
- And the last straw? Just after that look of relief at the end ... he looks over and notices there no paper! Noooooo! And of course there's no one home to scream to bring paper. Next shot, he looks at his hand and looks grossed out by the thought ... looks around and sees ... decorative towels ... shakes head no ... loofah hanging in shower ... shakes head no ... maxi pad on sink counter ... look of considering ... finally pet gerbil that's always wandering around the house walks across floor. MC looks at camera and smiles evil smile. I know this would be a remake of some movie ... can't remember the name (Something About Mary maybe?). Anyway, you started it!
