Import from P2 not an option?

I just got my HVX200 in the mail with a 16gb card... from Ebay. First time importing the clips and I got the drive to mount, and transfered them over. But Final Cut isnt giving me the option to import from Panasonic p2... what have I neglected to do in the process or am doing wrong. thankyou
 
Perhaps it doesn't work on cameras from eBay. No but seriously please check out the forum FAQs and do a bit of research. Also let us know what version of FCP you're using and your system spec etc etc.

Ok I got it to work by hitting log and transfer. I am using FCP 6. I just didnt see the option under import that says Panasonic p2 like I saw in some of the images on the forum. Thankyou for quick responses though.
 
You'll notice there were a number of changes made to Final Cut in version 6. Log and Transfer being just one of them.

I am stuck as well, hitting "log and capture" doesn't allow me to select the files from anywhere...

I have dragged all files to my comp but cant get them in FCP its frustrating

Any help would be appreciated greatly!
 
Do yourself the biggest favor you will ever do, and ditch the FCP "Log & Transfer" entirely. Download Raylight's demo and try it. It might very well solve all your frustrations.
