FS7: idiots guide

Awkward moment on set.

director: " can we get playback on that last take"
DP: " uuuhhhhhhh.....well....now that's a tall order."

Thumbnail>enter (maybe enter again)

Just takes a while to build the previews (which is annoying)

Sony 'heads' think we all do 1/2 hour takes, on that basis maybe peddalling back is not a bad thing.

BTW if
you have the web app open you can quite easily use that do browse clips.

just wonder if FS7 comes with a print manual? i can't seem to find it. Also, no warranty card either. Is it something new with Sony? Register for warranty online?

I think it's ridiculous for an $8000 camera to not include a $10 printed manual. I need to be able to grab it out of the bag and quickly reference it.

I think the opposite. There's little need for printed documents in this eco friendly age. There was already enough paper falling out of the box with all the legal claptrap that has to be included.

There is a PDF of the manual on the Cd that came with the camera. Just e-mail it to yourself and open it on your phone or tablet.

flipping through 119 pages on my Galaxy Note 12.2 is not fun. I still prefer the old print out booklet. :(

I think one reason for pdf manuals are that as FW changes there will be many revisions. By the time thee manual is printed it is superseded in many cases today, so instead of stapling in revisions and x-ing out information, you get a whole new manual.

You can always print out the pertinent pages, and keep them in your run bag.

+1 That is what kinkos is for.

I searched using appleF on my PDF viewer (imac) for 'wifi' and got '0 results'

Personally I think anything that needs a manual is badly designed.
