FS7: idiots guide

OK so let us say that NR is useful when filming black cats in coal holes - usually I am of the opinion that needing NR means your exposure was off!

So im doing the coal hole job and need to enter the dreaded custom zone of the camera.

Simply I want to set up three user profiles (like Ive got on my EX1) to avoid the need for the missing WB wheel..

How do I set up and pedal between my 'picture profiles*' I want to build

Probably HG800_3200K, HG800_4500k, HG800_5500k

Thanks!

*picture profile is the term used on the EX1 - it might now be re-titled.

I need to read the manual. I haven't even sorted out how to make or save different setting profiles. I'm hoping they are easy to flip between so as to avoid massive menu mucking when changing environments.

No, no, no. You cannot RTFM.

File/Scene File/Load SD Card or Save SD Card. Easy.

or

File/User Gamma/Load SD Card. Also easy.

So you need a card!

Anyway just been out at a Festive thing - the camera seems suspiciously sensitive (slog) 70-200/4 with a booster and I was doing 100FPS or ND without!

Plug in the dongle and then check in the wifi bit of the menu for the specific network name and password and use an ipad or whatever to connect to it. then I believe you log in using a browser with

User: admin
Password: pxw-fs7

To follow that up for any followers - Page 49-50 of the manual.

No app just a web interface.

in terms or deep menu hopping and clip browsing this is probably better than the camera

Try it.

There's Rec review which can be assigned but it's a broken implementation and Sony need to fix it. It only plays the last few seconds instead of the whole clip.

One some sonies you could choose -last few seconds or whole clip

it was an option

with the EX1 you could not stop it so last few seconds was the way to go!

You can assign a function button with Rec review and with the broken implementation keep pressing the button. The camera will then go into playback and start rewind. It stops and starts to play when you stop pressing it.

What's the point only showing the last few seconds?

I don't like it either. I'm just saying it is very unlikely to change.
I'd rather lobby to get Last Clip Delete put on the camera. That missing function is going to kill me on some shoots.

Awkward moment on set.

director: " can we get playback on that last take"
DP: " uuuhhhhhhh.....well....now that's a tall order."
