Idiotic things that only happens in films

1. Bad guy always yapping out the evil master plan to the good guy instead of just killing him right there

2. Someone kills another person in a gunbattle and they leave a perfectly good LOADED gun on the ground

3. Car never seems to start when you need it to...and of course some monster/slasher/serial killer is on your tail.

Add to the list :)

Villains always thoughtfully make bombs with easy-to-read timers that accurately and clearly display exactly how much time the hero has to cut a wire in order to disarm the explosive.

police tasting "white unknown powder" with finger (ive heard from real cops that thats ridiculous and very dangerous)

Yeah. They make little test kits that you put a very small amount of the suspected substance in and break the vial inside. It reacts and changes color if certain narcotics are present.

"Your Honor, I then ingested some of the controlled substance" wouldn't go over very well in court.

You can always find a parking spot in front of the building you are going to.

Computers make funny beeping sounds every time you type something.

Everyone believes the guy dressed up as a woman is in fact a woman, without question, and vice versa.

"QUICK DID YOU FIND THE PASSWORD?!!"

clakclakclak "IM ON IT IM ON IT"

"THEYRE ABOUT TO BREAK DOWN THE DOOR!"

clak clak clak

(thinks out loud - that means this is the train of thought that's gonna get it) hmm... ok... ok...

Door bash one.
Door bash two.

"I GOT IT!!! ACCESS GRANTED!!!"

"QUICK LETS HAUL ASS"

(hauling ass)

Door breaks down.

Like really. Copying a file? ok. Progress bar? ok.

But password? 16 bajillion possibilities. thinking out loud doesn't bring on the epiphane.

bullets always hitting the tiniest bars/objects (like handrails, chairs, etc) and NOT the good guys - of course the good guys pop off one and it's bye-bye-bad-guy - let's see some more good guys get the living **** kicked out of them as is expected in real life a la John McClane. also, red wine never turning people's teeth gross, I drink two sips and my entire mouth turns purple, in movies they drink bottles and have pearly whites still

1. Dial tone when a cell phone hangs up.

2. hot wiring newer cars.

3. Almost every punch to face of the nameless baddies is a knock out blow.

4. Getting shot anywhere but blood pours from the mouth.

Overly long fight scenes. It's not a sparring session, one two hits to take the guy down, or else he takes you down. The longest fight shouldn't be more than 30 seconds.

Oh, and people getting up after flying through a window. Despite the fact that windows are actually really strong and would at least hurt you drastically, if not cut you up on the way through it.

Same for bottle breaks, chair hits, the classic stuff. No one can get up form these things. Bottles probably don't even break on the hit, they could probably smash your skull in (I think). But if they do break they would hurt and cut you up.

Enhancing a picture often is a few clicks aways ...realtime could take days or a "are u outha ya damn mind" reply !

Enhance ..enhance , love that scene in Supertrooper !

every car's brakes squeak.

streets are almost always wet at night, even after a perfectly sunny day.

most of the time, if a scene takes place in a car, the rear view mirror is missing, unless it serves the plot.

and who can forget..."Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions."

Loss of cell phone signal as only thing holding up the plot. If the heros could call the police or their friends the story would be over, so of course there is no signal.

And they have to film an insert of the phone showing no signal.

I'm pretty sure there is a funny YouTube video showing how much this is overused these days.

Of course before cell phones many a drama was based mainly on the fact that some characters were cut-off and unable to tell anyone what was going on. Rather than just give that plot device up, they went with massive signal outages.

haha those images are great. What I love more so is the guy on the computer - because lets say the technology existed as they have you believe - of course he's too stupid to do all these things without being told to by the "clever detectives".

Guards in any war movie always walk mindlessly back and forth and are so hard of hearing they never hear anyone supposedly sneaking up from behind or look in that direction EVER.
