It's been well over a year now and every time I say to myself, " I am going to enter this DVXFEST. Needless to say, I have yet to enter a single DVXFEST. This time is going to be different. For a number of reasons. Some of which I won't mention just yet. Long story short, it's go time.
 
I may just get super ambitious and try and complete 2 films in the next 10 days. We will see.

I'm there too, Adam, I haven't done one yet, but this feels like it might be the time.

J.R. Hudson, aren't there a whole bunch of people in another thread trying to cajole you into entering? Sounds like you've done this before...

The first ever DVXFEST and ZOMBIEFEST and then my life fell apart; good times.

Placed 1st and 4th respectively.


I'm in on this one. Life is good; time too make movies again.
 
My first and only submission was in LossFest and I have been saying the same thing since.

But for real, I AM participating in this one. I have ran out of excused.
 
I'm in....and I have a strategy. I had an idea for the last one....but my perfectionist streak got the best of me. This time....my goal is NOT to have a great entry, not to have a respectable outcome, not to avoid embarrassing myself. My strategy: You've got to start somewhere...just get something done....no matter how lame, entry the thing...and change my legal name after that. :)

But seriously...I'm just going to get my idea in the can and enter the thing...and that's my ONLY GOAL. :)

That's what I did for WestFest. I got everything done except for changing my name:)

My main advice would be to have a very clear vision of what you want to create before the shooting starts. The better you can sort it out before hand, the easier your life will be.
 
I just have to say *me too*!

Been thinking about doing this for a long time, we even have a pretty specific idea of what we want to make too. No script yet. No actors. And it will be in Dutch - so I even have to learn how to do subs.

No idea how far we'll get, but without trying it's not going to happen anyway.

This being /fiction/ fest, *anything* goes right?
 
hmmm... I wonder what I can shoot tonight after work to make a short for Fiction Fest :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
