Alright readers, here is my situation.

I have the Canon XH-A1
I will get a shotgun mic. later
I have the FS-4 HD
I will get the VIDLED(internal battery) soon.
I also own the Sennheiser G2 wireless system.
I have the Spiderbrace 2

I have to give the fs-4 more playtime so i purchased this,

this is the fs-4 holder i am currently considering.

How would you carry all of this on your spiderbrace2, if your setup was close to mine? Do you have any suggestions?

I dare you to suggest!

thanks.

I'd get some 2 piece clamps like these to attach aluminum mounting plates to the brace. A little cutting and drilling, maybe a little velcro...done.

I'm a fan of this bracket here. It uses one shoe mount and gives you three more. It would be good for holding the vidled and the mic. Ideally, you want to hang your mount for the battery and FS-4 over your shoulder as counter weight.

That NRG bracket can be really handy, but puts a whole lot of leverage on your hotshoe, and if you bonk it with all that junk attached, you're liable to break the shoe off the handle.

I'm watching this thread too, as I sometimes hang more stuff on my cam than there are places to stick em.

wow you can hold all that on the spiderbrace 2 i was thinking on getting one,but i have read that it is plastic and not strong enough to hold so much weight. Is this true coming from someone who has it..LOL

It is not really about how much the Spider Brace 2 will hold, but how much weight can you take on the arms and still be in control of the rig for great shooting. I have had a DV Rig with shock and the Spider Brace. I would only use the spider brace for camera and one item (wide angle, receiver, light, etc). For any extended shooting the arms will die. Here is a link to some shooting I just finished this week. I rented the rig from Matt from McGee Digital (I forget the name of rig). It is a DVrig on steroids (and then some). Hand held for about 6 hours and my back still hurt!

below are images of the Canon XH-A1 with the Bracket1 HD.

The cam is holding a firestore, tekkeon battery, sennheiser receiver. The camera has room still left for a lite-panel(hot-shoe mount) and possibly a shotgun microphone too.

Its a bit side heavy too but it works. You just need to visit the gym often so you can hand hold in a wedding.

Also some shots with the bracket1 on a spiderbrace2.

enjoy.

having a hard time trying to get the firestore to connect. I have windows XP 64bit and the drive shows up in Device Manager with an exclamation mark. it worked fine in 32bit but since then i have gone to 64bit.

anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the problem?

Sorry I cant help, but your bracket looks good. Nice work. Good thing is you used velcro so I guess in future it can be used to hold something else if needed.

May I suggest FW cable with right angle connectors and also loop that cable once or twice round the handle.

alright thanks Noel. I got the firestore to work. unplugged couple times and it worked. I will be looking for a right angle fw tonight while i buy a litepanel.
