I can't get this adapter off my camera

That's strange. Did they close/open properly before you ever mounted them to this adapter? It sounds like it's your lenses.

The aperture blades on FDs do not move unless attached to a camera mount. There's a lever that can be hold pressed but I recommend against that as it's quite easy to bend it.

Azmyth, it seems like the problem i was having when i tried my first FD lense (28 2.8) on the adapter. It really was all only a problem of correctly mounting the lens to the adapter. It does take some trial and error, and you must make sure you rotate le lens nearly 90 degrees from the red dot until you hear a click stop. The first times i stopped rotating till i felt it was hard enough and aperture blades were not operating..
just made this quick video showing you what i'm talking about...

There's your first good bit of advice!

Dude... FD lenses don't let their blades move unless the lens is mounted. So when somebody asks "does the aperture operate when it's not on the adapter (or cam)" the answer is going to be NO.

I'd advise you to not move the aperture ring when the lens isn't on an adapter. If you did that a lot then you may have to put it near (or on) the f-stop that it appears to be on when you look through the lens, before you mount it again.

If you have the older canon lens (breech-lock... i.e. silver locking ring) then you'll line up the adapter and gently push the lens in... it sometimes helps if you give a slight side to side twist to make sure the lens fully seats on the adapter, then, while still holding the fit tight... turn the silver ring of the lens breech-lock FIRST... until it locks the lens on the adapter... next grab the adapter lock ring and turn it to it's "locked" position. It may not move much because of the breech-lock moving it part of the way, but it should get to a fully locked position. IF it's NOT to a fully locked (mounted) position then yes, the blades will move some, but not all the way.

OK. next.

If you have the newer FD lens (little push button on the mount) then you must push that little button on that ring to turn it and fully lock the lens on. First push that and turn the lens toward the locked position of the mount... then use the "open - lock" ring on the adapter to be sure it's fully seated in the same manor as already described above.

Finally.

Double check that the screws on the adapter are tight. I'm not a big fan of that style FD adapter (I've got one)... grab an eye-glass size philips and see that the 3 screws holding that silver plate down are tight (not crazy, just make sure they're not loose). If that plate gets loose, or you lose one of those screws... you're going to have issues like you're describing. (unfortunately, I would know).

OK... really finally.

If all that doesn't work then there's a problem with that particular lens :)
