HVX+TOUGHBOOK in remote location

Hey guys...
I need to give a quote to a client for a shoot in Africa, (Tanzania) about the cost of setting up a satelite internet connection in the field.
The idea is to go and do some shooting with the workers in Tanzania (with HVX), cut the footage in the evening (Toughbook+Avid), and have it posted online by the next day.
I'm not sure how reliable the Internet will be there, as we may be in the bush at times. I want to know f anyone has any experience with this, and if they know of a company I could contact for prices (for satellite internet hardware).

Plan for getting out via satellite. While the prevalence of internet in Africa was often times much greater than I expected, connection speeds from urban internet cafes were pathetic. Even from good hotels the connection was often dial up... Forget about remote areas.

Troypod,

I worked on a road tour of the US a few years back and we installed MotoSat internet on the tour vehicle. You can see two of the dishes mounted in the background of this picture:

I checked the MotoSat website and they have a system called the TCC Lander that is self contained and air transportable. I would think this would be your best possibility. I do not know if they have coverage in Africa though and the upload speeds from any satellite connection are going to be pretty slow.

Hope this helps,
