Hey everyone,
Forgive me in advance for asking this question but even though I am sure it has been answered many times before I can't seem to find the threads.
I am relatively new to all of this I got my HVX about a month ago, a Macbook Pro and External hard drive a few weeks ago and Final Cut Pro 5.1 a few days ago.
I am just having a little bit of trouble figuring out direct to disk capturing and the steps to do it successfully.Here is what I have done so far:
I have my camera hooked directly into my firewire port on the macbook and the external drive hooked into a FW800 card in my Expresscard slot. The camera is set to record in 720p24. I open up FCP do the easy setup for 720p24 and then open up my capture window. I set it to record to my external drive and select uncontrollable device and hit capture and it waits for a few seconds and then says "cannot perform capture because there is no video".
My guess is that I have a wrong setting on the camera or in FCP because i am a n00b. Any advice on what to do or links to any tutorials or threads that instruct on how to do this?
